Basically as the title says, what is your favorite handheld shop light that you use? I'm looking to purchase a handheld shop light or two and was wondering what you guys prefer!

I've had a cordless matco for about 6 years now. It's held together with a lot of electrical tape and epoxy but still works. Snap on has a nice product also.

I have a cordless LED with a magentic base that I got as a gift about 4 or 5 years ago. Might be labeled as a Stanley? I think I saw them at Sam's Club for a while. It has taken a beating and still works great.

cordless or corded? I have a cordless one from monster tools bright as hell and its green so it very hard to loose
its under 1/2 inch thick where the LEDS are and maybe 14 inches long

Thanks guys those are all something I'm going to look into.

edit to moneypit: I'm not really swayed one way or the other, I'd like a cordless but not absolutely needed.

I have a Blue Point (snap on) cordless led light. I want to say 20 led. Pivots at the bottom and has a ridiculously strong magnet on it. Had a guy I used to work with leave his stuck to the bottom of a car on a road test and didn't move. It was about $90 but I wouldn't hesitate to buy one again. Very durable too. Mine has taken numerous 6+ foot drops.

I have a MAC Tools rechargeable LED. It is at least 8 years old. It spent about 9 months over in Iraq too. And it is still going strong!

I really appreciate that offer I have a crappy corded one but I'll let you know if I will take you up on your offer.

My dad has an old corded light from the 70's? maybe earlier... I don't know how many times I've been working on my car at night and I move the light and it kills the bulb.

Great thread!! I'm sure i'll be ordering one of these within the next week :)

Napa tools has them on sale in the summers months for ~$40 the cordless Led versions. I had MAC lights and broke or left them in cars. Also Toolwarehouse online has had them on sale.
