Anybody can access everything from first-hand historical accounts to scholarly research papers, laws, schematics, libre software, ebooks, manuals, tutorials, and scientific publications. When you look past the news propaganda and anti-social media, it's an amazing tool.

Damn, there are some good answers in here.
All of my traditional investments have pretty much been stagnant over time and therefore suck.
My $1600 Bronco II that I never put much money into got me $3500 toward another car when I got rid of it after 4 years of faithful service. That was a pretty solid investment. The Cobalt SS I "traded" that in for, drove for two years and 30,000 miles got me back what I put into it when I sold it and helped enable buying the V wagon. I'd say the Cobalt was another decent investment as far as cost per use I got out of it goes plus considering what it helped enable. The V wagon itself is still worth about what I paid for it after 25k miles of use by me in 4.5 years. It was also my easiest to leverage equity item with the lowest rate when we needed a roof last fall, which is pretty funny.

That house I had In Royal Oak. After we put in on the market it sold in one hour, the first people to come look at bought it for asking price! Also my Wife, when we first started dating she needed to barrow money from me all the time... Now she runs a floor @ the Renaissance Center/Blue cross! She's pretty cool too lol
