What is a good car batter these days?

I like AC Delco batteries myself, but only get a replacement from a dealer if you want a real one...Duralast Gold is my next choice (along with it's copies, 3 I think now).

Optima is a scam anymore. They were fine at first, on par with any normal batter but no way better. The modern one's are cheapened up pieces of junk.

Wow, I am on my 4th year with my Optima Red Top. I leave it in the car all winter with the neg cable off and never start my car all winter. Pop the cable back on in spring and starts right up every year. :dontknow:

Have a used Optima I bought threw my work (autozone). Was new but they stopeed selling that part#. Got it for under $30 and 4 years later it's still going strong. Running a duralst redtop in the Freestyle and a Gold in the stang. Had to swap out the Gold after a month but so far it's been fine a year later.

The original battery in my Jeep must have been gradually dieing for a long time because everything about the car runs 100% better now with the new battery installed. I thought I was going to have to give it a full tune-up because it was stumbling a bit but now it runs like new. I can't believe how much a battery has changed the way it runs, amazing.

Usually you can tell the differance in a battery by the weight- more lead plates.

The more lead the better it is , longer life.
