What Handgun to Carry?

I'm looking to pick up something for a carry piece. Maybe a compact 9mm or something of the sort. From what I've seen on here you guys seem to prefer the Springfields to Glocks. I don't need anything that gunna fire with sand in the barrel or anything like that. Just something to have around the house and maybe carry. Don't want to spend a ton of cash (but who does?). Suggestions? Prices? Where to buy?

Are there places with used guns for less cash?

I'd go with a sub-compact or compact Glock, or my personal fav, the springfield XD subcompact. A new XD will cost you around $490. Both are reliable, easy to clean and maintain, and easy to conceal.

Glocks new range from $450-$550.

Go the the firing line, and shoot a couple different guns, see what you like. I know they also have used Glocks in stock. Not sure about the XD's.

I have had a few and by far I love my subcompact .40 cal XD. You can also get the subcompact 9mm. Go to Michigun on Gratiot, those guys are cool to deal with and have the best prices. I think you can get one from them for $479.

Might as well carry this.

Is that a paintball right above that gun!?!

I would DEFINITELY carry that one. I've been wanting a revolver forever...
Only the one I'd like to carry is a small silver one with a pearl handle. Soo cute!

Get a glock29, you will not be sorry.

10mm auto in a subcompact package and accurate.

I just got done shooting my glock20 (full size 10auto) and that thing kicks ass. With the 165+P I'm hitting close to 1400fps and you can tell that this thing could take down a moose/car/elephant let alone a person.

I had a Smith and Wesson Tactical: lightweight, bobbed hammer and slide release, and a bobbed ambi safety for us lefties. I'm a lardo with more rolls than a french bakery and I carried it IWB easily.

I'd suggest looking at the HK P7 line. A NIB P7M8 is probably out of your price range (> $1k), but there are a lot of P7 PSPs for sale used in grade A condition, for ~$675. Grade B's are ~$600. I don't own one, but have shot one, and am seriously thinking of buying 1 (or two or three!). The PSP's are German police trade-ins export here for resale.

I like my Kahr PM9 (they also make a .40 and .45) but the XDs are very nice guns too. Shoot a Glock to make sure you like it before you buy it. Some people (myself included) just don't like the grip.

I have a .38spl S&W model 60 revolver. Its small and light, but only holds 5 rounds. My other carry gun is a Glock 19 9mm that holds 15+1. I mostly carry the Glock because it is easier to control with multiple shots.

I've been thibking of an XD9/XD9sc, or a Glock 19, but i need to go shoot both if i can find them for rent somewhere
