Laughter is common when a person(s) dosen't get it or understand for that matter. Its a way for them to attempt to fit in and not look retarded.

Its normaly followed by a quick exit, if not it turns to anger by instinct cuz of fear (of embaresment in most cases), or sometimes the thought that someone might see thru there front of bullshit and actully see who they are as a person.
