Ive got this 88 Notch that was converted over to a carb, V8. Its got a 351W in it with a Duraspark distributor in it that needs to be wired up. From what I remember from my jeep days, there needed to be some sort of timing box right?

The car has an MSD-6AL on it also, I dont just wire the distributor right to the harness on the MSD and call it good right? doesnt it have to get wired thru something else first? I thought the distributor went to a box that had a wire that triggered the MSD which was then wired to the coil.

I'm kind of rusty on this topic but if memory serves me correct the white wire on the MSD is the trigger wire that gets its signal from the distributor.

This should help....

And if you need the stock tach to work....

yeah I basically knew I needed to hook it up like the first diagram, I just wasnt sure what to do with the original coil connector as I dont have one. So that C+ wire is just an ignition +12V?
