I am currently looking into the West side of the state. Mainly the Grand Rapids area. How is it?

I just graduated from college and I think I am going to expand my search to the GR area. What companies are out there? (Marketing, Logistics, Business Admin.)

Two of my friends just opened up Rak Thai in the area and they seem to love the area and the people.
 
I can't speak for the jobs, but I grew up over there. Grand Rapids is a cool area. Stuff to do in the city, and you're 30 minutes from Grand Haven.
 
Might want to sign up for michiganspeed.com They are based out or GR. The site has a lot less members than Motown, but it is a good group of guys.
 
born and raised in GR. my parrents live on the NW side (Walker area). lots to do downtown. yeah, the beach isn't too far away.
 
Spend a lot of time over there. My reserve unit is in Muskegon and all my buds are from the GR area (wyoming, kentwood, jenison, comstock park...).
If I could sell my house I would move over there in a heart beat. So much to do close by and with a little drive there is much more to do. Just a short drive for Silver lake, U.S. 131 drag way and the great beaches in Grand Haven.

From what I have read, it seems like my kind of place. GR seems to be a very cool area. Correct me if I am wrong, but it also seems to have a lot less crime than Detroit/Flint.

I have lived in the metro Detroit area and Mt. Pleasant my whole life. I need to get away, lol.

I've lived in the Grand Rapids area all my life and have never felt like I was in any real danger. Not sure how accurate these sites are but this might help give you an idea. The numbers from the GR side of it seem about right. I've never had a friend get their car stolen but I know of a few without their stereo or subs.
