I checked my camera, got 123 pics of DOES and a fawn, no bucks. WTF.

IS anyone aware of a law that says if you own a certain amount of property you can blast the does? I have several that look mighty good here and I missed the doe permit.

Yes, It's called a land owners permit. In upper Michigan, you need at least 40 acres to qualify though.

I usually buy a combo liscense, lets you take a doe, $30.00 this year. I'll take two deer and donate one to FHFH or hunters for the hungry....minus the straps!!!!:icon_mrgr

Of course, a doe can only be taken during archery season with this - firearm season will still require a permit. I did happen to notice that he said "blast" a doe.

Hey there's a beautiful deer lets shoot it!

J/K I dont have a problem with hunting as long as you eat the meat. I love venesion, but I dont hunt. Good luck guy's. My buddie got an 8 point 5 AM opening day at his property in Lapeer. Gutting the animal wasnt all that bad though, I was suprised.

i shot two does opening day. walked in at 4:30 one was on the feed, took a long shot and i think i hit low. blood on the arrow but none on the ground. looked for a few and gave up. had 3 does and a fawn come on the bait after 6 and something spooked them. 3 jumped a few feet and one stayed on the bait, so i drew and took a shot. she was angled kinda sharp and i hit her just in front of the rear quarter. she didn't bleed a drop on the ground. i looked hard for both that night, didn't find that one until 1 the following day and she was all bloated. good news is i got may arrow back...

but now i have word that the browns are in at tawas bay, i might grab the boat and head up to do some fishing..

catch you later

Got that covered. Where does one go for this permit? Same place I gotr the deer one?

Well I'm still confused. The Antlerless licenses for my DMU has been long sold out, and no where can I find a section that says that I can still get one. I think I'm screwed. :dontknow:

Here is a seperate updated list of available landowner permits:

http://www.michigandnr.com/availablelicenses/default.asp?Type=P

Here is a table showing left over permits for non-landowners, which is a much smaller list:

http://www.michigandnr.com/availablelicenses/default.asp?Type=D

If your DMU isn't in either list, you won't be able to get one this year. If you want to bag a doe, looks like you'll need to get out the bow & arrow.
