Weird noise on start up. Is the starter going?

How big a job is it to replace the starter on a 2000 Vette? I skimmed around online & it looks like the part is under $150.

That's from the heads / cam / Borla combo. :)

1.1 hours labor according to the book. A GM starter for your car is $449.75

Soooo, don't buy a GM starter... lmao.... I am not sure, but I don't believe you have to remove anything to access the starter, it's just limited space... Probably take you a half hour total to do it yourself I am guessing..

I'm not that sophisticated. Could this be something other than the starter? What sort of life expectancy should be expected from that part? It's a 2000 Vette.

Listening to that if I had to geuss that starter housing is cracked on the small bolt and the starter is running crooked to the flywheel. If you catch it early enough you should be able to avoid replacing the flywheel. If you want to bring it over for a look see let me know.

BTW the best way to avoid this problem in the future is to upgrade to a 6.L truck starter.
