Weight loss---permanent plateau?

Is there just a time in your life when you can't lose any more weight? I am stuck at the same weight no matter what I do. Last summer I trained for two half marathons & one ten mile race and still didn't get below 200 lbs. I have been lifting weights more for toning the last few months and working less on the cardio and that isn't working either. Cut way back on my soda pop too, maybe one every other week now at the most.
I'll start hitting roads again this spring but with two kids on two different track teams my miles will be limited.

all in your diet. runners often have metabolic syndrome where you store more BF and burn more glucose. Pretty common....

all in your diet. one of my good friends went from 310lbs down to 165ish. hes helped me tons with my plateaus in the gym, and it was all changes in my diet. but im gaining size, not trying to cut fat really, id like to consider it a clean bulk

I've gone from 300 to 175 where I am currently.
I found changing my work out broke those plateaus.
Yep. No such thing as a plateau... but you need to change up your routine. Your body has adapted to what you are throwing at it and no longer feels the need to change to meet those demands.

If you're serious... try P90X. I've yet to find anybody who honestly committed to it that didn't get results.

Go vegetarian + no sugar no flour for a couple weeks and don't drink any calories, see what that does to you.

ummm....YES...exactly. change your routine along with diet..

i feel results are 80 percent diet 20% gym, a few people i work with tell me im wrong, but they are the lazy people that cant dedicate and dont see results and go to the gym lifting the same amount of weight and looking the same. they use "genetics" as their excuse on why they are stuck where they are at

100% agree. Those with the mindset, determination and dedication to diet (regardless of surplus/maintenance/deficit) weeks/months on end... Those are the men who separate themselves from the boys. IMO of course

What are your goals? What is your diet (meaning, how many meals per day do you consume and what do they consist of)?

You mentioned 200 lbs. How tall are you? What sort of build do you have?

I am 6'2", thin build, I like long walks and moonlit....wait, what was the question? I have three meals, morning is usually fruit & Cheerios, lunch is ham or turkey sandwich with a slice of cheese, apple, granola bar, a small bag of animal crackers or pretzels. Dinner is different, but nothing outlandish. I have no idea how many calories I take in a day, but I have been trying harder to get more water. No snacks between meals either.
I just want to be a bit smaller so I'll have 5 or 10 less lbs to run with and for my tummy to be a tad smaller.

To get a good idea of the calories you're ingesting, you might want to keep track of everything you eat. It's a PITA at first, but once you know what you're putting into your system, you can target how much you want to cut and what you want to keep. There are free nutrition tracking sites out there...I've used http://www.sparkpeople.com/ before, and it worked pretty well for me.

bread, crackers, pretzels, etc. none of that shit is helping your cause.

Go vegetarian + no sugar no flour for a couple weeks and don't drink any calories, see what that does to you.

I've never even been to a gym before, but i went from 210 to my current ≤ 150 on diet alone.

Exactly. Most people go to the gym and burn 400-500 calories but it's easier to just cut a few things out of your diet out during your day. Don't put cheese on your burger, don't get mayo, etc.
