Anyone ever install a webcam in a conference room? i have a ceiling mounted projector and automatic lowering screen, they want a webcam now. i would like a ceiling mount webcam but i'm having a hard time finding one cheap enough. im looking at this logitech that has a tripod mount and thinking i can find a tripod to ceiling mount adapter somewhere: http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Port...7WCY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1318947994&sr=8-1

so if anyone can find a mount adapter that takes the standard tripod and allows you to mount it to a drop ceiling (the kind with removable panels). the problem im worried about is if the camera is going to be able to see everyone in the room or not. anyone ever do this? do i need a different camera like one with a wide angle lens or something?

I have nothing to add, but I'm curious about this as well as it has been discussed numerous times at our company. What program do you anticipate using?

Bought a lifesize system because the quality is great and it's simple enough for C-levels to use.

The most important thing with a VC setup is having enough light in the room! I ended up just having a guy in the shop make a bracket to hold the camera and put that on the bracket that held the TV. You want the people looking at the camera so it makes the most sense to put it right over the screen.

For the display ends I just used Samsung LCD 46" TV's

we are using google chat for the video, currently just a one on one thing with another office so we dont need anything more complex than that right now. does gotomeeting do video?

It isn't alot of weight in general. You could probably make a quick braket to span the two flat bars of the drop ceiling and hang the camera from there.

Also, if you are hanging it, and its hanging upside down, make sure the software you are using is able to flip the picture so it looks correct.

I ended up getting that cam and basically just sitting it on top of the projector screen. Works good up there except that the wide angle isn't very wide. I saw someone online that took a wide angle lens from a camera and fit it on there, I might try that.
