Im new to all this but I want 5-600 to the wheels, currently im on a stock block with comp270 cams,8lbs p1sc/intercooled, full bolt ons and making 400/411 whp tuned by lidio at alternative.

Was looking at this kit at mmr for $1699....(Unless someone has a better option)

MMR Street Mod 750SE 4.75 Liter Forged Stroker Rotating assembly

This is everything you need except a block to assemble a complete forged shortblock, this kit has the same parts as the MMR Street Mod 750SE shortblock but in a do it yourself kit. Available in all piston oversizes for 1996-2009 2V, 3V or 4V

Includes:

1500HP US Made 4.75 Liter Forged Crankshaft ( 8 bolt) NOT CHINESE like the inferior EAGLE brand.

MMR 4340 Forged I-beam Rods with ARP HARDWARE-up to 750HP

Manley Forged Pistons with tool steel Pins (any compression ratio)

Total Seal Rings

Clevite Performance Rod and Main bearings

1 year Warranty

Should I just keep my block or try to get the teskid block?

Was prolly just going to reuse my top end of the motor unless I can find some good deals on heads and a diff intake.

For anyone with knowledge on this what are your opinions and what do you think the cost would be to clean up my block or get a teskid block and do the assembly.....im trying to do this on the budget side of things but please give me some options/opinions. Bear with me if I didn't put enough info in here.

Thanks,
Lonny

gonna bring this pig to no et in October? i wanna see it at the strip. i will be out also, we should be tuned by then.

no et is the 12th, second week. but im sure you will be up there then to......i like hunting as much as the next guy but i dont beat my meat to it like you do haha.

IMO......I would never stroke a 4.6. Piston gets far too low in the bore.

As long as I can get to my power goals It don't have to be stroked, but I thought it wouldn't hurt.....but what do I know.....lol....im new to this

not a fan of MMR stuff....for a few reasons and to make 500-600 to the wheels with a P1 is going to be a stretch! Going cheap...forge the bottom end..drop the pulley size and add a 75 shot on top.....

Would a teksid block be ok out of a 1997 cobra? Would it be a straight swap....no modification?

As far as bolting the block in the car goes, a 4.6L block is a 4.6L block. Front covers can be kind of tricky though. Keep in mind that Mark VIII's had the same Teksid block and you can get a whole Mark VIII engine out of a yard CHEAP. Tear it apart, sell the heads and stuff, not worth much but worth something, you can have a Teksid block for next to nothing. Hell, one just sits in my living room, I have literally no money in it at all. Selling parts even paid for the lamp sticking out of it. You sound like you are on a budget and wouldn't mind doing the little bit of extra work to make it cheaper.

I run a stroker and have had no engine problems at all but I had one of the best engine builders in the country build mine before he retired. My stroker isnt common either and has custom diamond pistons that would kills most peoples budget right off the bat....BUT electrical...lol. yes. Just remember...more HP mean more shit breaks and if you have a budget...double it cause stuff will come up in the rebuild and that adds up QUICK...gaskets, bolts, fluids, etc. adding HP...you need a a way better fuel system...which even going cheap is going to run ya $$=dont go cheap anyways on fuel sytems.

I have a boost a pump with a 255lph and I know I will need bigger injectors since mine are 42's other than that I was just thinking of slapping a smaller pulley on and retuning and hope for the best.

My motor has only 42k miles so maybe I will just keep it, if I pull my motor and just upgrade the bottom end do I need to have the block cleaned/machined..etc....or can I just tear it apart and install the stronger parts and slap it back in? Does anyone have a teksid laying around they don't need?

If I were to do a 4.6 sohc motor, I would turbo it and have a race gas and pump tune, or switch to e-85.
Like They said get a tekside block, go through a set of used B 4 valve heads, and matching Inake. Look for used good cobra positions, rods and crank, all over CL and swap it to a turbo four valve mod motor.

Or do what these guys did

Nice write up they did but I doubt that stock block would last long on that power without a forged bottom lol.

Im wondering if I should just spend the 2500 at mmr for there shortblock and that way im done and don't have to mess around with shops and parts and all the time im going to spend on trying to get everything together and done right.....ive been doing a lot of reading tonight and it just seems that after buying the bottom end parts and taking my block to a shop and having everything installed and looking good it seems I might have the same amount of money into it anyway so why not just get a shortblock and be done....or am I missing something that would save me a lot of money.......ive never done work like this before but am sure I could with someone supervising me if I want to tackle doing the teardown/install myself lol.........im getting lost on what to do actually lol, im not in a huge hurry or anything this project was going to be done over the winter months, so I have lots of time but lack the knowledge lol
