****WANTED**** Short barrel for Mossberg 500

Probably be easier to find (and cheaper) to get another long barrel, and just cut it.

Do you have the chokes and stuff for the barrel you have now? If not, just cut that one. You're going to want a tight choke on the barrel to shoot clays, otherwise you might as well shoot with an 18".

The barrel I have on it has and adjustable choke on it. I don't want to cut it.
 
I'm still looking for a barrel, gents. Any leads?

Brownell's has the 20" in stock for $80-something bucks. Then while you're there you can get a stock to replace the pistol grip, and a new fore end with a rail, and a light...then you'll be out $300 total...ouch.
 
Al, not sure if you realize this or not, but putting an 18.5" barrel on that shotgun with that pistol grip would be illegal, at least here in Michigan (this is NOT a joke). OAL of any gun must be 30", or it is considered a pistol, and must be registered as such. You also can't convert any long gun (rifle or shotgun) into a pistol.

and in the eyes of the feds, it is still a long gun, their law is the 26" part

Michigan law says that I can have a shotgun that's less than 30" OAL. I just have to register it as a pistol. A 18.5" barrel will put me at just under 29." Federal law says that so long as it's over 26" OAL, it's still a long gun. I have a deal pending on a 20" barrel and a heatshield. I should be picking both up today.

No. It's a .45 but not a S&W. It's a Ruger P90 with a Hogue grip and three 8 round mags. The revolver is a nickel S&W Airweight .38 642

Still looking, and preferably for a 20" or 21." The barrel for sale was not as described. Barrel was ~18.5" NOT a 20." Also, it was a home cut job, and not a great one. :shake: 45 miles and an hour of my day wasted.
 
Like new factory 18.5" barrel and heat shield found. Payment sent. I'll be registering it as a pistol as soon as they arrive and I throw them on.

You don't even need to do that. A Mossberg/Remington shotgun with a 18.5" barrel and pistol grip will typically be 28.5" long and is still a shotgun. You can buy them like that at Gander Mountain, it's not a pistol

‘Short-barreled shotgun’ means a shotgun having 1 or more barrels less than 18 inches in length or a weapon made from a shotgun, whether by alteration, modification, or otherwise, if the weapon as modified has an overall length of less than 26 inches.
