Want to go swimming??

All I know is this sucks!! My dad pumped out the yard, but of course it continued to rain, so it is still wet back there :( Not to mention the rain/snow we are going to be getting the rest of the week. Something tells me my dad is not going to be spending every day over here pumping my back yard out!

It is going to seem like forever until spring. Obviously I have to get my flood under control before I get a fence done :bs:

I wish they were vacation picture.....you should see the amount of mud being tracked into my house :893Rant-S .

build your yard up and leave the property line low

Yeah pretty much what my dad suggested doing to. But he says to dig a trench and put in the pipe (forget what kind) or pea pebble and run it to the front :dontknow: I told him he is gonna have to help me  If I am lucky I can get him to have the guys who work for him to come out and get it fixed...at least the digging and crap....ugh!!!

You might be able to call the city and complain. I thought there had to be proper drainage in a sub like that. some way that the yards are tied into the city sewer.

If not, and you have a piece of drain "tile" (usually tubing) pit in, they may have to approve of how its done.

Also, dont forget to call miss dig, etc etc. dont want to run into any buried cable, phone wires, etc that run underground into junction boxes and such.

in the past I have used pvc and corrigated pipe. The main thing is that water flows downhill so where ever you have it drain to make sure it's lower than where you start. I have put in over 10 miles of pipe in the ground over 3 years and sometimes it sucks.

I don't think the city really has anything to do with it....as far as it flooding. I think their opinion will be it is on my property, so sorry about your luck :bs:

SCREW THE FRENCH!!!!!!!
You wouldn't say that about your beloved Airbus aircraft, now would you? :icon_mrgr

I'd think twice about putting more dirt in your backyard to correct your situation, especially considering the fact that the water in your first pic is just about at the level of your garage floor. If you do this, you'll more than likely end up with water inside your garage then, and also might end up fighting with your neighbors about the water run-off into their yards (create several more serious problems to correct one relatively minor one). It's better to get rid of the water altogether by installing FRENCH drains. :icon_mrgr

She flew in, she flew out, shes a BOEING!:icon_mrgr

(I do admit that the Airbus is easy to troubleshoot but YOUR always troubleshooting it!) Oh well It's job security right?:dontknow:

The limited experiences I've had with Lucas products (some early V-dubs and most recently, a Ford tractor), I must say that I was less than impressed with their products. Kind of scary to even think that we blindly rely on that stuff @ 40,000 ft. :icon_eek: I hope they got that new A380 albatross flight worthy.

I can definately relate. I was a Cadillac tech for many years and got to know the HT4100 V8 (and the later "improved" 4.5 and 4.9L variations) very well due to it's many shortcomings. Made some good coin off of them back in the day though.

trench along the fences 1-2' down then put pea pebble down, or build the grade up by spreading about 2 1/2 yards of fill dirt NOT top soil (no concrete chunks) around the middle of the yard so the water will run off it.

Do the first one if you have a dog.

Yep....I have a dog. If I didn't it wouldn't be that huge of a deal to get fixed, but it is misery having the yard like that and dealing with the dog. Ecspecially since I am taking him out on a leash, so we both get to walk through mud and water :(

MCM....It is already flooding in the garage.

I'm trying to figure out if once I fix this and then get a fence put in if that is going to screw it up again. I will be seriously pissed if it does.

Oh yeah and I am really thrilled it rained again :bs: I'm at work...can't wait to see my yard......actually I can. Have I mentioned this sucks!!

If it wasn't so late in the year I could fix it now, but there is no way I can get grass to grow now. I'd end up with a muddy disaster during snow melting time.

Not to mention I am trying to figure out the fence issue too.

I am VERY glad I don't have a basement though. Sucks for your buddy. I feel his pain. I could kill the damn guy I bought this house from  :extra_vio
