want a trans

hi i have a 1984 mustang and i keep blowin up the t-5 and im looking to get a trans.does any one have a top loader 4 speed or a strong t-5 .is it possable that im missing something or im doing somthing wrong for them to keep blowing up.......

u need to have the t-5 pro-shifted,u also need a short throw shifter,that will help keep from pulling shifter so far.t-5 is weak anyway,move up to a tremec and have it pro-shifted or faceplated.

i have a tremec 3550 5 speed with a short throw hurst shifter w/ stops, lakewood blowproof bellhousing, and a centerforce d/f clutch. All parts are in excellent shape and in my 68 mustang.
