Viper alarm question, also GM alarm question...

Anyone know about these things? My Ram truck has a viper alarm on it. I HATE the horn beeping. I leave the house and come home at night sometimes, and I hate the damn beeps it makes to lock the doors. Any idea how I can turn them off?

Same question for my Camaro. That one is even more annoying, because for some reason the horn beeps even longer on that one. Extremely silly. When I was driving that car to work I wasn't even locking the doors half the time, because I was embarrassed by all the noise. If I can't figure out how to make it stop, I'll take the horn off and throw it away.

Sorry just re-read what you asked...

Do you want the horn to be shut off completely when you lock the cars?

Do you still want the alarm to be active when you lock the doors? Just want the horn to be shut off right?

(Sorry just woke up)

IIRC open the door to your vehicle and on the keypad hit lock and unlock button at the same time... I can't remember if you have to do it once or twice for it... But the LED should go solid to let you know the command was accepted.

For the Camaro, do you have the owners manual?? There's a procedure to set the electronic options like beep, lights flash, both or neither, last door lock and such. It's all laid out in there. If you don't have a book I can look it up and post the how to for you.

if that don't work I can turn the horn off with the DRBIII.You can do it yourself on newer dodges on the menu screen for the I/p.
the camaro has 4 modes you can set
1all off
2horn and lamps
3horn and lamps/lamps<factory
4 lamps
done using the lock pad on the remote

or you could just simply go under the dash/steering collum and find the horn wire, usually a black or black with a white tracer and disconnect the wire from the alarm. IIRC the viper horn trigger is also black with a white tracer.
