Victory Racing Engines BEWARE EVERYONE!!

This is the first thread ever that has been negative about Victory Racing. Obviously it was a big misunderstanding.

Hopefully that is the case, Ive never had anything done by them but have heard a lot of good stuff about them, hope everyone can work this out

$1200-$1300 sounds cheap for that much work unless they were going to just bolt it together with measuring anything. My 403 had $750 of machine work - dynamic balance, pin fit and hone rods, cylinder hone (out to 4.005), hot tank, checking the mains for alignment (no bore required), and milling the heads. And that didn't include assembly. Everything was new except the block.

Sounds like a misunderstanding on both sides. No point in getting pissed about it.

Thanks for the advertisement, but MY business has nothing to do with this story Eric. If the job was quoted why did the price change?? Your guy told me in the $12-$1300 range for the assembly and minor machine work of my brand new block and my provided parts. Then all the deposit crap Im figuring you need 5-800 to start that would be in the half down range. Your wife asks for 1500 as a deposit, I was caught way off guard by the drastic change in price as the $1500 was just a deposit so the total would obviously be more.

We looked over the parts left and decided that a certain amount of machining was needed. At that point we came up with a price and asked for a deposit.

We did not sell you any of these parts and gave you a ballpark price based on little to no machining and assembly. Unfortunately that was not the case and the price adjusted accordingly.

I remembered when Formula17 bought this engine and when he told me he dropped it off at Victory. I specificly remember he told me the price for assembly would have been around 1k. I know Formula17 made the efforts to contact Victory. And I remember when Formula17 told me that Eric came to his trailer store to rent a trailer, and that was well over a month ago.

No wonder he didnt give you the money when you tell him his deposit is more money then what you previously told him for a total. I dont know about you but I just dont hand extra money out to people without explanations....

:shake: to me you don't let shit sit around that long and not call to see what the hell the customer wants to do...it's in your shop you want to babysit parts for that long! sounds to me like if you ignore customer long enough it could be free parts!!!!!!!!!!! MY USELESS .2

Looks to me like both sides are to blame somewhat but from my observation I would say 70% victory's fault and 30% engine owner's fault.

With things getting tougher for everyone you have to be careful of word of mouth transactions. Always get quotes in writing.

Dave @ EngineCraft in Waterford is the man. I drop off parts. He machines them in a timely fashion. I pick them up and pay him. His word is good and so is his work. I highly recommend him to any of you guys.
