Nope, won't work. The new line needs to be $79.99 or more, a month.
 
I got Verizon to give me a new phone about 6 months early.

I had to give up the $100.00 discount which means I got it for the promotional price.

I think I paid $60.00 for my Razr.
 
I have worked some funky shit with the last 2 upgrades I got. I'm not really sweatin this one too much.

That might work. Are you a Verizon dealer? If so, I called Verizon again and they said that because I am the primary name on my account (2 lines) I AM eligible for an upgrade if I go with a new 2 year contract on my primary line. I am also an employee of JPMorganChase...who has a business relationship with Verizon. I get a 22% discount on my bill and also monetary credits on a new phone.
