There is a trailer on YouTube, that's was a sort of rough cut. Still had some mockup GCI in it, watermarks, etc.... It's very similar to the trailer on TV, but there's a final 6-7 seconds with the symbiote bonding with Brock and this last image here. It's like 1 second of Venom... but it's killer

Yes it's a little bit of both. It's an alien symbiote that bonded to Peter and give him a lot more power, but started to bring out his bad side and got out of control. Peter liked the power of course, but started to get worried about how the suit was taking over and the way he acted with it. Eventually he split from the suit, and it found a new host, Eddie Brock.
