The fluid is not low. Just checked it.

Could it be the filter/pick up tube?

It is not an aggressive right hand turn, just your average right turn from a stop sign. it doesn't do it turning left or going straight, only when it is cold and turning right.

Thoughts?

I only know that an old fox mustang with an AOD will do this if you do a fluid and filter change and then forget the little gasket that goes between the filter and the valve body.

maybe I'll swap out the filter and fluid this weekend.

Would a 2006 vehicle have synthetic or non-synthetic trans fluid?

What kind of vehicle and how many miles? It could be a simple solenoid hanging up or it could be the fluid is thick when cold having debris (dirty fluid) in it making the solenoid hang.
