Captain Slow
Long story short: Absolutely no electrical power in the GTO
Story:
I've had this 2004 GTO for about 6 months now. I really haven't had any issues with it at all...just a couple of minor things, but those were sorted out pretty early on. The only modifications done to the car are a Predator tune (just the pre-programmed one, nothing custom) and an exhaust.
I got up this morning to drive to the gym, and everything was fine...there and back, the car was just like normal. Got home, took a shower, and got ready for work. Got back in the car to go to work, turned the key, and nothing. No clicking, no sluggish starter, nothing. The information display (where the MPH, odometer, etc is displayed) lit up everything that could be displayed, then the display went blank. Absolutely no electricity. I couldn't even scan for codes because there was no power. I took the battery terminals off, cleaned them up, and connected them again. Looked inside the car, and the odometer was displayed. Got in to start the car, and the display went blank again, and again...no power.
I am thinking (hoping, rather) that it is just a battery issue, but I just replaced the battery when I got the car. I haven't had any issues with it until this point...no sluggish starts or anything.
Is there anything else that would cause a failure like this? I'm going after work to take the battery in to be tested, but I'd like to hear other thoughts in the meantime.
Thank you for any help!
