anyone been to ubly? closer to the house, i was wondering if it was worth going or not, i seem to remember lapeer was decent but had a dirt lot right?

Ubly is a lil track , but one of the hardess hooking tracks in michigan!!
Great people up at Ubly. Both on the owners side and the racers!
Also a great place to have a BBQ and do an afternoon of brackets.

Lapeer, oh man..last time I was there I replaced 4 high dollar float needles and seats.

Never again..will I go to the "Dust Bowl"!!

Ubly is a great track. I was there religiously through the 90's. I have been meaning to get back up there since I have a decent car again.

Its not the prettiest place but the track flat out hooks. It will definatly be worth your tome to go. :rockwoot:
 
UBLY is my fave!!!!!!!!!

Lapeer, no thank you anymore. I cant take the owners or the openen header 14 second cars anymore.

Atleast the rednecks at ubly are GOING FAST!!

You know they have a cure for that. I even sell them. Ever think of a high flow Wix's racing air filter? 30.00 to save you from having to replace those 4 high dollar float needles and seats. Just think what the dirt that went past those 4 high dollar float needles and seats did to the inside of your motor.:eek5:

That was back in 1989 last time I was there..

Again Never Again!!! Will I race at Lapeer.

Ubly used to hook good for the first 100 feet or so. After that it's a little weak. I went there this year and track prep was very poor. My 60's were about 2 tenths off. I have talked to other racers that said they couldn't get their cars to hook either. I sent an email to Ubly expressing my disappointment with no responce yet.

I have also heard this from a few folks. Now to play devils advocate I know of two folks that haved pulled personal best short times at Ubly this year. Suffice it to say that the track still works, but you have to chase her a little.
 
well sounds like it'll be decent for me then, my car ain't much to brag about yet, i need to replace the opti and i'd like to see what kind of time she'll throw down, then i need to have it dyno tuned. i want to make sure everythings working good before throwing any nitrous to it.

besides won't take much before i'm banned for not having a cage.

anything i need to worry about for tech? i've only been to rentals, i got a helmet that's pretty much all i need for a heads and cam car right?
 
Its a great Lil Track..been around a long time and family owned.
You will have a great time there as all of us had.
Get out an do some dragging over there..Just make sure you bring lunch and drinks!
