I'm thinking about going a different route in my audio pursuit. The Electro Voice 12TRXB coaxials made in Buchanan, Michigan, the Benchmark DAC1 made in New York, and the amp made by myself, of course. The 12TRXB's are hugely efficient, not needing much power to drive. The crossovers have been reworked with poly caps and new L-pads to ensure years of trouble free operation. They are ~100dB @ 1W/m efficient. Meaning from one meter away with one watt of input power, they are as loud as a jackhammer. The speaker cabinets are from the 1960's, and have new white grill cloth, I'd rate them as excellent for their age. I've always used Howards Feed n Wax on them a couple of times per year. I also installed new fiberglass insulation on the cabinet walls for sound dampening.
Amp and DAC are sold, speakers are still available.
