Tuning a fuel injected Jeep

I just put a homemade turbo kit on my 1995 Wrangler with a 2.5L. I am looking for a good way to pull some timing out of it. You cannot simply rotate the distributor on this engine to change the timing. After a lot of Googling I read that some type of Chrysler scan tool can pull timing. I don't really want to go with an MSD with a BTM due to the fact that this bitch will get very wet and muddy. :)
Anyone ith experience?

ah shit. Get me some ECM part numbers. I might be able to figure out something. Is it JTEC or SBEC ? post a picture of the unit. I think there could be a very slim possability that its common to the 2.2 motor. If so there is a slim chance software is out there wiating to be found.
 
just use the btm... Gm weather pack connector it and mount it inside the cab it'll be fine.

Prob have to use a boost ref. reg set-up of sorts...
 
i am trying to do this pretty cheap. I have a V8 to put in the Jeep, but I wanted to try to turbo it first for a few hundred bucks. I guess a Chrysler "DRB" scan tool, or a snap on tool can take up to 6 degrees of total timing out. Since I am only running 6 psi, that should be enough ignition retard.
 
Only a DRB can do what your asking. The other issue is that those Pids you are adjusting will learn themselves right back out after a few drive cycles. It would require constant adjustment.

The FIC is a good economical alternative. Round about $500 and getting fuel control would be a nice plus. You can stuff a bigger injectors in the motor.

With lower fuel pressure the pump will not have a large drop in volume as it would with a FMU.

I ordered an MSD 6-AL with the BTM. It should do what I need. I'll just have to try to keep it dry. I am only going to run 6-7 psi, so the FMU should do the job.
