yes Lidio will weld in a dedicated bung near the collector. Also who supplied the exhuast? $1200 sounds cheap for headers+cats +install +dyno tune? sounds like a super deal to me.
Or are these your parts and Lidios responsible for them to work?

that was for the install and tune only. I supplied the long tube headers (although he strongly advised against anything other than BBK). I was just figuring i'd save some money going SLP, because i already had an SLP catted X that would work with the SLP long tube headers.

So he advised you not to use them, and you being the perfectionist you are said fuck it, used it anyways and had the nerve to come on here and throw Lid under the bus for it? Damn, I'm glad I dont have to deal with the general public.

Yes, getting a slip-fit exhaust system is hard to get it to seal. It can be frustrating. I understand. But for the price I paid, along with the repuation of the shop, i expected there to be no issues. Instead the car was returned to me initially with LARGE exhaust leaks when I was told the car was perfect and ready to go. If there was an issue, I would have appreciated honesty in concerns that they have come across during the installation. (as they broke the dip stick tube during the install, and had to drain the oil and fish out the parts....I paid an additional $90 for a full oil change and understood that shit happens when working on a car). Keep the car as long as you want until it meets the quality of work that is acceptable. The vehicle was returned to me and was unacceptable.

I brought the vehicle back and Lidio adjusted the complete exhaust system to obtain a better seal. There is still an exhaust leak. It is frustrating, but I am not freaking out about it. It is at an acceptable point right now and better than it was before. It will still need some adjustment or modification to get it to seal properly.

Either I will seal the exhaust system myself or work something more out with Lidio to get the car at the point it should be at.

So this isn't the same shit he said in the last thread Ryan? Alright your call bro. This one is all yours.

Justin, he pm'd me and said he would take up his problem on the original post with Lidio and I could delete the threads. I moved one of his threads to the Mod forum. He is abiding by the rules and don't see any problem with this thread. On the other hand, the people jumping down his throat are being dicks. He's doing the right thing now and we should respect him for doing that.

I am totally aware its parts only, not a bad deal either considering the work involved.
you do have alot of answers but if exhaust leak is at collector (after 02's) then I wouldn't worry about another tune.
I only ask as we hate installing slp also on them.
Just a quick question thou- Do you bring a burger to MacDonalds and have them cook it for you too? and then complain it doesn't taste the same as theirs???
If alot of jobs could be done cheaper then don't you think we would be doing them cheaper to make more money?
good luck

I bet there is a bunch of different ways to get something done (or cook a burger), doesn't matter how you get to the end result just as long as the end result is the same. SLP wouldn't sell a part nationwide and still be in buisness if there wasn't a way to get the system to work. May be a different design....but it's not rocket science to get the dang thing to seal. Would have appreciated if more time or effort was put into getting my vehicle done right.

i didnt throw anybody under the bus. But I am starting to get angry about this bullshit.

Have you ever worked on cars before? Do you perform a repair to a car...pull it outside, claim it is perfect and return it to the customer when there is clearly something wrong? I sure as hell hope not. Pretty sure they have laws in place to cover this type of thing.....

Most slip-fit exhaust systems leak. Yes it can be remedied with a little copper rtv and a few adjustments, but for something so simple i just think you went about everything wrong. Lid is a good guy with an excellent reputation. Do you think he got that rep by doing hack work? Do you think every shop on the planet has a 100% perfect customer satisfaction?

What i'm trying to say here was a quick phone call to Alternative Auto would have fixed this whole mess without all the drama. Things slip through the cracks once in a while and giving someone the opportunity to make things right is usually the best step to take before coming on here kicking and screaming to people that don't even know you.

Let's do everyone a favor and get this guy off this board please.

He goes to lidio with shit parts and expects them to turn in to high performance race parts when the job is complete. Because the car left with shit parts still and lidio could not magically turn them in to high performance parts it's all his fault? WTF?

Do you know how much shit lidio comes across when people get there with their shit parts or homemade projects just for a tune? You would be surprised. He does the best with these shit parts people or homemade project people and tells them what he thinks needs to be corrected first prior to the tune. They either a.) choose to listen or b.) not listen and go along with the tune on their homemade projects or shit parts and then when things don't come out to their satisfaction it's all lidios fault. Shit parts = shit performance and reliability. Do yourself a favor and junk the crap you purchased and get the high quality parts which you should have done in the beginning. This is the name of the game we all learn our lesson when trying to save a few bucks when it comes to this stuff and in the end you always get burned.

Please ban.

thank you and have a great day.

The parts I bought are not shit. Meerly perceived as shit by certain individuals.

I dont care about the shit anybody runs into when agreeing to tune or work on a car. Ultimately they have the right to deny installation of parts provided or deny to work on a vehicle.

The long tube headers I bought were actually more expensive than the BBK long tube headers.

May be a different design....but it's not rocket science to get the dang thing to seal.

As I've said before, have it welded, otherwise you are asking someone to do the impossible. Put one tube inside a larger tube and make it air tight. That's not going to happen without some kind of seal. Pay to have it welded together...or pay to have it modified to have flanges, then use a gasket...no more exhaust leak. There are no other ways to get a perfect seal other than those two options.

More expensive means nothing. If your going to have someone else install something on your car its never a bad idea to consult with them and get their opinion. They do work on these cars everyday and have probaby seen what does and doesnt work.

I've installed an slp slip fit system. It was a complete pain in the ass. Not to mentiom if you got everything to seal, the tips out the back were still uneven. I'd never recommend any slip fit exhaust. It's just a huge headache when you can get something with flanges or clamps for the same price.

Take it easy guys. Hes not a real car guy. Hes from Chicago. He makes those stupid ass youtube videos...you know the ones playing Marilyn Manson music while his stock shit idles outside of an apartment complex. http://www.youtube.com/user/gerrrg281#p/a/u/0/wpyccpy9wfk

Notice he isnt even smart enough to blur out his plate ?

I installed the cams and valve springs myself....for the record. I also have a 4 year degree in automotive technology and am ASE certified and work for Ford....so I don't know if that puts me in the category of "real car guy" or not.

....just sayin'

who are you?
