i picked up a set of the livernois dual valve springs. ive got 2 different spring compressors, one which works kind of like a c-clamp than you squeeze, pinches the valve on one side and the top of the spring on the other. the other grabs the spring and compresses it. neither of these seem to be working on these dual valve springs. does anyone know a tool that will work?

i assume the issue with the clamp is it doesnt compress enough
it takes 2 people. you have to push the spring down a little then extend the clamp so it will clamp farther.
it sucks

yeah, I basically need it to compress and extra 1/8" or so, I can get one lock in but not the second.

yeah. someone has to pull down on the clamp(to compress the spring) while another set of hands readjusts the part that hits the valve.
or come get my crane/vinci tool

Sounds about normal. I needed a third hand when doing mine. I compressed them, then had to push down like an 1/8th to get 1 lock in, but i couldnt get the second by myself.

Matt if you willing to come by the shop I have a tool I can loan you. These are ls head right ?

crane tool seems like the hot ticket, even when my clamp is max compressed, it still not enough to get them in. sending PM

sweet, waterford is a little closer to me than goin out to see larry. I could even come to you shop and do it there quick.
yup, LS heads

You can always use a drill press and a cut out socket. You just need to be a little creative in setting up the jig.

I have a more performance LS1 valve spring compressor tool. looks just like a rocker arm, but with a 3/8" square hole for your ratchet. wont fuck up your valves. I can get it out today, if you can wait a day or so. PM me.

Can you clamp it till you can get the first lock in, remove the compressor adjust it tighter then re-compress them to get the lock all the way down.

+20000 to you. that worked, kinda had to jam the second lock in to get it to hold, but it allowed me enough time to reclamp it. got em done!!!! wooot
