Isn't it just the old boxes that were sensitive to that, or are the digital ones like that too?

Thats a good question that needs investigating.

I know they went digi because of speed in processing , the greater amount of signals they can run and superior clean signal filtering all at a lesser operating comsumed voltage.

Electronics are electronics..Digi vs Analog is just a different method of signal processing.

But put electronics in a vibratiing condition ie: on the fender, next to strut, or even a radial tire that throws off all kinds of harmonic signals then mount it on rubber???
You maybe be asking for trouble.

I havent ran one of the new boxes...Perhaps someone could fill me in on this also???
 
Looks great! Nice t-trim btw, yur gonna need it. Better over spin it too. Id hate to think you left anything on the table for me. I want your "a" game

Let me add that the most pronounced reason to go digi was to yack to computers with a multi channel and or path on board data acquisition systems.

Some of the TF/ Pro Stock cars run upwards of 50+ transducers or channels gathering data 200 times a second. These transducers can range from something simple as a temp probe( Thermo couple) on exhaust, fuel managment systems or as complicated as a full wheatstone rectified bridge made up into radial transducers for measuring torque on driveshaft, clutches and wheels.
Again more info would be great..

yeah that box should be moved, if it gets any water on it, it will burn up...i seen somebody burn up a digital 7 that way by washing the car and the water dripped under the hood and hit the box and it was done for...i dont know to much about the vibration id be more worried about water coming up there from the tires...

That is what I was thinking, why not just mount it under the dash? Is this harder in the 87-93 cars? It was really simple in my 85.

I Was Gonna Say the Same thing!

However, Ive had mine mounted there for years even when my car was a DD with no splash shields and its been Fine, Im gonna move it to the Trunk though.
