I hooked up the power to the "I" (bottom right) ground to the GND (top post) and hooked a direct wire from the "S" bottom left, directly to the temp switch

When it's all hooked up, the temp Gauge shoots up to 250*
The temp switch works cause the dummy temp Gauge reads good...When I disconnect the wire from the switch, the dummy temp Gauge reads 0*...plug it back in, reads "normal".
Do I need some kind of aftermarket switch (not the stock ford) for the gauge?

probably need an autometer sender, no idea on the specs for either the ford or the autometer senders to be able to say for sure though

are you sure that that is a temp sender, and not just a temp switch? if it is a temp switch, you need a sender for a real gauge

What I have pictured above with the arrow is the switch...I got the car to normal op temp and the gauge read in the normal....I pulled the connector off and the gauge read past cold.

If I'm not mistaken, this is the temp sensor for the fan/pcn (?)
