Transcooler Fitting Issue

Trying to hook up a trans cooler to my c4 and found out the fittings I got from a junk C4 are totally different-my C4 used a flare fitting while the other c4 didn't. Do they make an adpater for this? Would like to use the braided lines I already have for this.

I could order them up for you. you could also use a 1/8 to 1/4 NPT adapter. Then it is very easy to get the correct fittings. 1/8 npt seems very restrictive to me for a hi po application.

You have any 1/8 NPT to -6 adapters? Need two.

FYI, my trans guy said never run rubber liner to a trans. Something about the lines can collapse and the rubber breaking down.. Not sure how true it is but safety first for me. He suggested running the -6 TFE lines. Even if he is wrong it is still cheaper to pay more for the line than rebuild or replace a transmission.

not "rubber hose" or rubber hose made for fuel, but they do make rubber hose just for transmission cooler line, its printed right on the hose I buy. Almost all new vehicles made contain all or a portion of rubber in the cooler lines.

Yeah that's what's in the case. What's the price Sean? Was at Fluid Systems and they didn't have anything that went from a 1/8NPT to a -6. Already have the line (and other fittings) so I don't want to go w/ -4 line.

All you need is 2 1/8 male to female 1/4npt thread adapters and 2 1/4 to -6 adapter fittings. There is no 1/8 to dash 6 I can get easily.

My advice is to take the trans to a trans guy and see if those cooler fitting locations can be drilled and tapped to 1/4 npt. 1/8 is just to restrictive for HiPo use IMHO. Ohter maybe be doing it but I like to have sufficient cooler flow becuase it seems to keep the transmissions alive.

If you just need someone to collect up the fittings I'd say somewhere around $40-50 for all 6 of the fittings you acutally need.

Okay I'll have to figure out which way I wanna go with this. Already have the trans in the car and really don't wanna have to pull it again.
