Swapped out my t5 for a c4. Do I need a different cross memeber or what? Some say to pop the tubes out and slide it back. I don't understand this at all. If someone can explain it better or if I can just get a different cross member that'll work too

No,you don't need another cross member..The tubes someone told you about are the ones that bolts the cross member to the chassis, round on both ends with rubber bushings..Some are tack welded and you have to grind the welds off so it moves, very easy to do..

So pull the bushings out and it'll work?

No,no..The round tubes that the bushings are in is tack welded to the cross member..To allow the cross member to slide front/back,you have to grind the welds off..I'll try finding a pic and show ya what im talking about..

Ok,I fund a pic ...The top of the cross member that I circled in red shows the tube moved forward...The bottom where I have the red line on each side is where the tube is tack welded to the cross member..Gring them little welds off and your good to go :) ..

to every man his own. 50$ is a cheap price to pay to have the correct yoke contact in my eyes...if it breaks inside, itll cost alot more then 50$

All im saying is he shouldn't buy something until he knows he needs it...If someone told me to buy that spacer when I did mine,it wouldn't fit because the drive shaft JUST fits with NO spacer..It other words, its useless for my car as the drive shaft wouldn't fit so that would be $50.00 bucks spent for nothing..Again,he should put the drive shaft in and go from there...
