trailer weight

Anyone have any idea what a 20ft enclosed weighs?? Need to make sure my ATV with class 3 hitch is able to move it around when empty. Where I will be storing it, it will need to be moved by a ATV not a truck. My quad would pull my 18ft open with 2 ft of snow on it like nothing, I think that trailer weighed about 1500 pounds.

my 24' enclosed trailer weighs a little under 4000lbs. It is steel. An aluminum one will be considerably less. Honestly Steve there is NO WAY I would ever try to pull an enclosed trailer with an ATV. It just isn't safe because the enclosed has a lot more tongue weight.

My buddy's 24' was 3200 empty, and I think he said his was one of the lighter ones. I really don't think you could or should move it around with a quad. Maybe a heavier garden tractor or something possibly?

I agree, but Im only moving it 10 feet or so. I can not get a car to angle enough to get the trailer into its spot. Worse thing that can happen it it will bottom the quad out and pull a wheel stand!!!!!!!!1 Lol!!!!

The other problem you might have, is if it is that tight of a turn, the added weight of the enclosed on the tandem axle will make a tight turn that much harder.

Sounds like an upcoming episode of YouTube entitled: Funny ATV accident. NWS for language.

Be careful dude.... :crap:

Steve this is possiable. depending on the quad size. we have 3 4x4 quads at the shop we use for snow plowing. the biggest one (polaris 700) has moved an empty 20 foot. when we store them in the winter we tuck them down the side of our shop. just throw a few people on the front of the quad or some weights if your nervous.

oh yeah...our empty 20 foot with 3500# axles weighs in at 3450. believe it or not. empty they dont have as much tounge weight as ud think.
