trademarks?

me and a buddy had a few idea's we had drawn up for shirts and i was just wondering if anyone knows how to get a logo or a few logo's trademarked? anyone know? is it even worth doing? thanks for any info

or can someone steer me the right way about what to do its more a design more then a logo, you could say

Interesting the "Made in Detroit" trademark infringement lawsuit was dismissed by a Judge here in Detroit.
Apparently it has to be proven that by someone else using your trademark will cause harm to your company.
Chrysler failed to do just that in court. They plan a appeal.

You most likely will need a attorney to file for you.
