Track Wheels on my 04 Cobra

I'll run regardless, heads-up or not. My orange car will go in the high 10's if I get everything right. I will not be the fastest car. But there will not be another car EXACTLY like mine. That's the fun! We have so many different combos here that would make it interesting.

I'm looking at this as an excuse to see some Motown Muscle street cars (or race cars) run together.

I understand. I know very little about the True street setup but i figured thats what people probably do. I guess the rules would really be the important thing. Tire size? power adder? You could also do something like a stick shift bracket? or a "factory transmission"? Something to weed out the racecars. Just throwing out options to keep the slower guys in the playing field also.
yep rules...BUT i surely dont want this turning into a BRACKET race........Like I said before though...what you think is a race car might be a street car to others...
MY car to a lot of people is NOT a street car but I would never consider it a race car. all depends on "perception"

exactly! I dont know anyone running a Cogged F1 on the street...
:)

I think the original post had the idea of getting cars together that are more like daily drivers and TRUE street driven and cruised cars. NOT a car that MAY be able to do the 30 miles or required drive for this event and knock out a 7 sec ET. I think we make it like Hot rod power tour miles but each weekend for a month we cruise and get up to a couple thousand miles and prove we cruise our cars on the street. Then we race. This will truley eliminate and narrow it down.

Jim, bad thing is even when my car was stock i only drove it on the weekends...doesnt mean it isnt a street car or cruiser just cause you dont drive it all the time.
damn..mine is a 2004 and only has less than 9k on it...

id be down for this too but like raj said probably do a small payout to keep the big dogs out and just make it fun.. meet up somewhere and drive to the track before a no et.. if u want your trailer there just have a buddy make the trip with your truck and trailer and trailer it home afterwards..

Weekend cruisers are fine. We can have check points each weekend to PROVE we drive them was the point and not a weak 30 mile drive to eliminate the 7 sec guys. Mine get driven every weekend as well. If it is dry this weekend I will drive one of them.

yeah...i dont even think from my house to the track is 30 miles...haha

x2, I am in the same boat and agree 110%.

Yep, a good way to avoid the big dogs is not to do a cash payout but a cool trophy or donation to a charity of the winners choice.

I'd buy one of those 7' trophy's for the winner. We could get a crown from BK and have your picture taken in front of your car.

I'm willing to bet we could do this on a rental day (maybe before an No ET event), have everyone get to the track, set up, head out on the cruise. If someone breaks downs their truck/trailer would already be at the track.

This would be a fun event IMO

Indeed, it would be cool to have bragging rights. We could also have someone at Milan look at the time slips to determine the quickest ET (for the No ET guys). Just another option.
