Took my Katech Z06 to Milan Thursday night to run at the Ford Club Rental, lots of fun

It was a good time as always at these private rentals. I was stuck in 2 hrs of traffic trying to get home and then got there and it was still hot as hell, so I was expecting some crap times considering the heat and being on street tires and the stock clutch still (it is holding on for dear life!!).

I basically came in right off the highway and pulled up to the line, 11.8, then hot lapped 11.7, 11.6, 11.5, 11.4 and ran 11.4 about 10 of my 20 passes in less than 2 hrs. Think my best was like an 11.44 @ 128.9. I can't remember the 60's, like 1.8s or so. Either way it was fun to run that day despite the heat. I usually trap a few mph higher, but given the near 90 degree temp I'm not surprised to have lost a few mph. Then I drove home on cruise with ac crankin and xm thumping, made me realize how much I love this car. I'm happy with the setup as is for now, just going to do an RPS twin carbon clutch soon so I can run the drags and not have to launch at 1800 rpm. Then this winter I think I'm doing the heads and a FAST intake setup, see what I more I can squeeze out of it then.

It was fun running all of the stangs there, I'm sure some guys on here were there. I didn't really meet anyone there as the Mustang guys kept to themselves, so I don't know who was there.

It's always nice to have a car that can run 11's, be capable of 10's with tires and a cool down, then drive home with the a/c on, and get 20+MPG.

Thanks Sleeper. Yep, had to take the wife for some ice cream since she put up with a Thursday track day and Friday Woodward night. Nothing says thanks like a scoop of the good stuff!

mdhmi - its a Katech stage one car, lots of info on their website of what that entails... with that I have a halltec intake and then the main addition to the engine is katech's Torquer camshaft and all supporting mods, along with kooks headers cats and corsa rear exhaust. It's good for 600hp on the engine dyno at the crank.

Solid, nice to see it finally running what its supposed to. Heard there was a decent turnout at the rental. Hopefully enough people to cover the costs to have another one!

Shawnc16 - Yes, I am the one with the plate "SAAYWEN". I would have had SAYWHEN but some F'er had it first.

Matt - the turnout was probably like 20 cars total ish? It was just as awesome as the last one. There were minutes that went by when nobody was even racing, and not because some shitbox broke. I hope you're right that they made enough to have another one. These are the best track days ever. I should be torturing my twin carbon rps clutch with my ET streets and launching hard next time. That should knock it down a chunk. Hopefully we can all get to the next one.

Ah Ok.. Yeah I saw you on Woodward Friday night, I was in the red Iroc with the Cowl hood. Lol

Were you the one I yelled nice 3rd gen to? Man, there were so many clean 3rd gens out Friday, I wanted to go home and ditch my z06 and take my Iroc out.

Stock GT - I have the slips at home and cant remember exactly, but something like mid 1.8s on the 11.4 runs, and mid 1.9s and a 2.0 on the slower runs I think. Something around there.

This is mine.

Race ya for it :)

I didn't realize that was you. I was there in out 90 mile 2011 Mustang and made 22 passes... ahh the joys of a rental. Your car sounded great!
