It wasn't so much as anyone "wronged" me. The company at the time of my hire need a quality manager as things were getting a little too loose. At the same time they had other internal issues so they placed me reporting to the VP - who heads the sales department. Great guy, just not a manager and more of a sales person. When he sold me on the job, a few things weren't what they said, I didn't learn of this until an accounting error was made and a document was sent to my printer by accident. I let that eat at me for about 4 months until I finally found something I felt was good enough for me to make a move. At this point I spoke to the president/owner of the company about why I'm looking to leave, making sure he understood the issues weren't work related/ people related, it was simply a few "accounting and scheduling" situations were presented one way and ended up being another, and I believe this wasn't intentional, being that my boss at the time had nothing to do with the other two parties involved. I would like to believe that he truly thought what he presented was correct. Anyhow, after explaining the president agreed the company was in the wrong and quickly made right on it. I had an email from the CFO before I got back to my office announcing my promotion, and confirmation that he put my raise into effect.
