Second gear in my trans is screwed im told it is a very common problem in the tr3650 its gonna cost me around $800 to fix it i just turned 50k, im wondering if i should just go with a TKO500 or maybe a TKO600. any sugestions maybe something else idk im lost when it comes to manual transmissions. any help on picking the right clutch would be great 2 thanks-gary:hail:

not much right now but future plans include head work, cams, intake, fully forged, hp twin turbo prolly not for a couple years but it will happen.

It sounds like you are building an entirely different engine, and if you are planning on twins, I would look into getting an automatic. How soon do you plan on doing what you are saying in a "couple years"? What parts do you plan on using when you say "head work, cams, intake, fully forged, hp twin turbo"? The reason I ask this is you could be talking about a 500 hp small frame twin setup for a mild street car or a 1500-2000 horsepower monster and as of yet we no idea what you mean. you'll need to be more specific when including future changes if you want an accurate answer. RPM will also determine what other modifications that will need to be done to the trans in the event that a TKO 500 or 600 is applicable.

600-700 hp street strip car mostly street, hp performance twin turbo kit on a 4.6L forged internals just for durability, ported heads, and im not sure what cams i would go with yet my hp goal is 700. Not looking to make a drag car just something to have some fun with, If I was gonna go with a race setup I would slap an auto in it and call it a day but it's gonna be driven on the road often. I say a couple of years because I'm broke right now as im in college. I think for now I may just rebuild the tr3650 with a few mods to shift faster then upgrade the trans when the time comes. thanks for the info

How high do you plan on spinning it? I would call Liberty's and tell them your plans and I am sure they will have something they can build for you.

Liberty is one our sponsors. Give them a call. Make to mention you are on Motown Muscle

gary... this prolly wont happen for 20 years, and I kno forsure u cant afford a tko 600. just get it fixed and drive ur car daily!

lol 20 years I doubt my car will last that long ,I dont plan on being broke forever as soon as i start runnin coke Ill have tons of cash. I just like to know my options and explore possibilities. thanks again for the info

visit http://ddperformance.net/ give them a call they will be very helpful and informative.

your cheapest bet will probably be to find a good used trans and install it yourself. easy swap. you should be able to find a trans for $500 or so. then when you have money fix the other trans for a back up.

Donnie's a good guy and definately knows his shit, but for a trans that would likely be modified to handle the power expectations this guy has, he would be better off getting the trans from Liberty's as they charge less to just get the completed modified trans from them rather than bringing them one from someone else. On top of that D&D sends their customers needing modifications to the transmissions to Libertys. For this instance, save the hastle of the middle man.
