Time For Paint...

wow that's pretty specific lol

Had to mess with Ryan. Sorry. What can we say, we think your a cool guy.

Right now it is just being spotted with high build Duplicolor rattle cans. The car really dosn't need much primer other than to surface it in a few spots. It should however be sealed before it gets painted. We might have to shift gears soon here and go to a two part, high build primer and use the gun. Otherwise is will cost him a small fortune for all the rattle cans. I have to look and see if I still have any left from my car, but I believe there is a shelf life on that after it is opened. For sure on the catalyst.

Hey Matt;

Maybe it might be better to trade cars for a while, or just get your car out here to me so I can work on it? I know my wife will hang me for this, but it's not my car this time. And besides, it will only be here a few weeks. Let me know what you think and I'll start greesing the skids so Its not a big surprise. Don't want to surprise a pregnant woman with something like another car in the garage.LOL.

Just thinking about how we can get it done faster for ya.

Sounds good to me!

What kind of primer are you guys using?

Hey Ryan;

You have any suggestions for high build primer that will play nice with the paint? It will be a basecoat clear coat app. I believe he said it is urethane, but I'm not sure on that. I want to say I used like a DPX or something like that on mine. It was purple.

I was just curious about the type of primer, that's all. I had a feeling it was a rattle can deal. It looked pretty thin. You can get a quart of high build 2k for like $40, since you are only spot priming it would be enough. That rattle can high build stuff adds up and doesn't cover or fill for crap. I personally would move to a 2k deal. Just lookin out! Project looks good!

Transtar EZ sand is affordable, fills and sands great and you can top coat it with your base/clear.

Ok. I think we are going to change locations so I can work on it easier. It's hard with the two kids and an expecting wife to go across town for the day to work on it. If I have it here, I can poke at it after they all go to sleep. I agree on the primer, we need to make a change. The car is really straight. It's in much better shape than mine was, so it should look really good for him. We'll have to talk more after I have it out here. Thanks.

That should work. We'll have to make sure to cover it-cars' to pretty to gt dirty! :lol:

Why don't you get the front end put back together and pick a day to trade cars for a while. If we can't find a booth to paint it in, we'll just paint it here I guess. It will be a while before we are ready for that anyway. At least a month or so max, but I will ba able to make some real headway on it for you. You can take my car and it's cover and it will be fine as long as it is inside a garage. I'm really not in a position to do much to mine right now anyway, so let's make yours look like mine. That will give me my fix for a while. LOL.

you fuckers are casting me aside!

Who the hell are you going to drink with now??

Matt.....your car gets pink highlights for sure......and Chris.....you're on a water only diet!:teabag:
