Thoughts on diesel Jeep Liberty?

I wish dcx would sell the CRD avenger and sebring here. I have driven many of them and they are over 50mpg on the highway
 
Americans won't buy a diesel car, it's considered too noisy....and honestly too different to catch on here....we rather roll in electric cars:hmm:
 
The thing I hear most about people not liking diesel here in America is that they can't stand the smell. Personally I love the smell and the sound, but I guess that's akin to liking the smell of burnt rubber and race fuel. I think people here are blindly biased against it the same way a lot of people are blindly biased against American cars, because really diesel cars today are pretty damn quiet, I would guess just as much so as gasoline engines.

Mmhmm! I was cruising pictures of the Avenger on Dodge's website and saw the CRD badge on the back and started freaking out. I thought they were gonna sell them here. :(
