This place has died.........

The OG Moto X is still a fantastic phone. I have a 2014 which is nice, but I wish it was the same size as the first gen. Moto has been sloppy with updates, so I ended up flashing CrDroid and it's much better. Moto had me on a testing release for months and I got fed up waiting for them to roll out the official OTA.

Phones are simply far to large these days.

Awesome

Brought to you by the company that pioneered the computer made as a jail cool.

So, since were talking old technologies. Where can I get a Compact Flash card these days? Locally around Kalamazoo would be preferred.

Hmmmm, I'm not too sure. You're probably best off getting one off of Amazon if it isn't an immediate need. Other than that, check the usual places (Best Buy, Walmart, Target, etc).

I went to Best Buy on the way home, $40 for a 32gb seems excessive.

I'll probably go to Amazon since I don't need it now but, the CF card that held the OS for my array died and I would like my media back.

Damn that's spendy. I wonder if newer CF cards have wear leveling implemented like the newer flash media. Wear leveling is supposed to keep the card from crapping out from excessive writes.

I'm not sure. This one was just old, it has run 24/7 for probably 5 years before coming to me.

They start at $650 for the 32 GB version.
You're going to pay full price for the phone either up front or being strung along with an extra $30-40/month.
The Apple financing plan allows for early upgrades and includes Apple Care.. It's a 24 month plan but you can upgrade after 6 or 12 I think.
The site didn't say if you monthly payment just gets extended even further at that point or if you have to pay it off.. I assume you have to trade the phone in.
Not sure but I'd prefer to pay once and have an unlocked phone that I own and can sell or do as I please with.

I'm with Sprint, and I can still do the 2 year subsidized contract for a phone for like $200-$300 depending on model. My plan is $100/month for 2 phones, unlimited data (not throttled), talk, and text. Includes international service as well.
