This is how you change the heater core in a 96 Escort

and it only took 6 hours! The book called for 6.5.

Yeah next time Im buying a heavier coat. Although I did save alot of money doing it myself, I imagine 6.5 hours of labor and inflated price of parts would have been extremely expensive.

Funny this came up because the heater core in my 2002 Buick Rendezvous went out last Thursday. Friday I take it to Bill Crispin Cheverolet, in Saline, and walked away with a bill of $718!
Heater Core was $88 + 6.5 hours labor. :faint: :pow:
 
My g/f's 93 Escort had a clogged heater core last year. I bought a new one, then my Dad had the idea to back flush it and it worked....so I save the pain that you went through thank god!
