Thee old A-Team van is acting up

I have an 85 Ford Eonoline van(5.0) that keeps cutting off when i apply the brakes at idle. I am now driving with two feet to keep it from stalling out at the traffic lights. I just did a full tune up(plugs, wires, pcv, rotor, cap) about three months ago. It always starts right back up with no problem.

Any ideas what it could be?

How are the motor and trans mounts ? could be the engine is flopping around and knocking a connection loose. on a van that old you have quiet a few suspects. however a booster issue on that van would and could cuase a surge comming to stop. Is this EFI or carberated ?

Check to make sure your PCV system is working correctly. ON the fuel injection models if the pcv filter is clogged that is located under the pcv valve it would cause the same problem. You would have an Iac on any fuel injection system. Check all your electical connections. How does it run at idle & in gear??
