Corvette SS all day long.
Far more practical, baddest bang for the buck off the showroom and still doesn't attract that sometimes unwanted attention the Lambo will![]()
Alright, one vote for the SS, woohoo!!!

haha, nice Stang for sure.
I assumed most of you would say Vet..interesting. I am swinging towards the Gallardo myself, but man, will I be able to handle getting my ass handed to me by a not so heavily modded F-body/Vet/Viper? These are the thoughts that are crossing my mind. Sure, a lot of exotic car owners say "I wouldn't care if i lost, I am still driving away with a (blank exotic) while they are driving away in a Chevy/Dodge/etc." But to be honest, I don't think like that and I think that is just an excuse for these exotic car owners to just feel better about themselves. What am I trying to say?
If I lost to a not so heavily modded Vet/Fbody/Viper, etc, I think i would be pretty upset..lol.
I'd have sex with that car...
:lick:
have heard 700hp for the ss :secret: student rumors thoWith me, I go back and forth. Everytime I look at a Gallardo everything else in my mind becomes obsolete. But then again, everytime I think about a 650 HP Vet that will beat anything under 500K I get excited too. So, I am a little confused and just thought I would get some opinions from you guys. What would you choose and why?
Its us fucking Lightning owners you have to be worried about. Whats worse than losing to a TRUCK in your LAMBO?![]()
Remember that you have to hang with the exotix guys...some of them are real pricks as much as i love them. They were my main crowd in NYC. They realllllly have that attitude, make sure you can stomache it. Some are cool, but for the most part they are prestige/exclusivity whores. They buy the car bc of how long the waiting list is, etc.
Nice cars. But if i had to pick a car based on the company i would keep, i would go for domestic. The cool thing is, that it IS "a chevy" imho.
Its a Butter Ass

I wouldn't hang out with these kinds of people. believe me, if I were to get one, I would still be loving hanging out with my friends that don't drive these cars. I CAN'T STAND the kind of people you are talking about!!
Word...i'm thinking a GTS with a Twin Turbo Kit

Ferrari.
The Lambo is a tarted up Audi.
Fadi, whats up brutha!
That Lambo, to me, is hideous. I mean...it certainly is different and i suppose that is why so many people enjoy them...because the attention it brings to them by it's difference.
But your not that type of guy. You enjoy showing off you ride, no doubt, but you also RACE it. I'm not sure what the repair costs are associated with that car but i can tell you that it is not meant to be beat on like a Z06 or SS is. I dont think youll be happy with it...because of it's performance and because of its maintenaince.
it's more of a wine and cheeese crowd car...but perhaps you are enjoying your Chardonnay as of late?![]()
I drove an 06 G Spyder, which has considerably more aggressive gearing in 1st and 2nd and more power for about 2000 miles, and it is simply not a fast car. Regardless of what any Lambo Power person rationalizes, an 05 will feel about as fast as a C5 Z06, even a little slower, and it's not a car you beat on. The 06 absolutely fell on it's face after 130 and the speedo was waaaaaay optimistic. I know what 170 feels, and more importantly looks, like from inside a car and that car was way off at speed. On the same road, shit was a blur at 170 in another car. Feel might fool you, but how fast stuff passes won't.
The clutch will most likely wear out inside 10k miles. The seats are not good either. They look nice, but lumbar support is substandard if you're going to drive it for any long period of time. I hung out with Jason Heffner a couple times this week (who came out here to party and ended up being talked into buying himself an 05 G as a shop car by Lambo OC. Absolutely smoking deal too.) and he put Carrera GT seats in one and said they stock G seat weighed over 60lbs. If you get an e-gear, prepare for idiosyncrasies. For no particular reason, it'd get stuck in neutral, the downshift paddle would stop working, or the downshift paddle would start to upshift. I have multiple friends with the car who have the same issue. Shit will go wrong with it, and you will pay alot to fix it. Price of admission for an italian exotic.
Those are the major minuses. On the plus side, it's sounds like a fucking animal, has a ton of grip, feels really good at the limit, starts to feel better the harder you push it, looks good, did I mention sounds good, and will probably be significantly more fun to drive than the Vette unless you are drag racing. Stuff that doesn't show up in an objective numerical comparison like steering feel, stability, driver feedback will most likely be better in the G. You cannot put a price on the sound that thing makes, but youd have to get an exhaust because the 06 opens to straight pipes at 3800rpm. I've done some insane roads in a Gallardo, going hard, at the limit, and even though it's not that fast, it's got so much grip, sounds so good, and feels so sorted with its steering and handling that the speed is irrelevant. You can carry retarded speeds into corners with that thing.
At a certain level of performance, it's all academic, and how a car feels and interacts is way more important than what it turns on a stat sheet, if you intend on really driving it. I've driven a lot of shit in the last year and you can't quantify the difference in feel between cars like a G, GT3 or 430 and cars like a Corvette or even more so a Viper (which are both faster, but feel a whole lot less involving. I drove an 08 Viper and while it's really fuckin fast, it's not even in the ballpark of a Gallardo). You can chase certain performance metrics forever and there will always be something on the horizon to trump it. But you can't outdate a car that feels phenomenal from behind the wheel.
