The UNDER 30 crowd

My dad's 67 Satellite project had a delaer installed reverb. They've had the car as a driver forever. The reverb broke and dad had it fixed but I think it may have died again. I'm sure it isn't going back in the car when dad is done, I can ask if he still ahs it, if it works, and what he would want for it if you want?

my sister had a '65 polara with an am reverb radio. it was pretty cool. the 383 4bbl, posi-traction bias tire burner part of it was even cooler. factory tuck-n-roll.....damn.....ice blue...oh, the memories.

grumpy old men my ass. you live to our age you got a given right to wax nostalgic.

here's a thought.....get off the internet and start making your own memories..then you can quit judging ours......:icon_wink

just my $.02........

btw, here's what 1981 looked like...........notice valid ohio plate...

Yeah, check with him. I know a lot of Mopars had revert, and the only ones I've heard work were in a Road Runner and a Charger. I know most Imperials also got them. Ask if it has a manufacturers name and model number please :) .

Street racing was way more fun and if you got caught it was just a ticket. none of the rest of the BS that you have to go thru today.

Agreed. Alot of highschool shit is treated like capitol murder now.

Get caught with alcohol and youre fucked, back in the day you dumped it out and go home.

Get caught drinking now you get a breathalyzer and a mip by compsumption, back in the day they took you home to your parents.

You cant cruise or hang out ANYWHERE, back in the day we did it all the time, all night long.

I honestly feel sorry for kids now.

Keep in mind some of it should. We never brought weapons to school to settle our issues. If you had that much of an issue you just used your fists without shooting, stabbing or kicking someone. Some of this, the young crowd brings on themselves.

it's the "everybody's a thug/gangster" syndrome. personally, i promised myself i'd never hate on young people because of their youth. in return though, i believe age behooves respect. at least to some degree. truth is, that we were all dumb punk kids at one time or another. we may not have thought so, but i'm sure somebody did. it's a shame everything's so restrictive these days, but the fact is people just took everything too far, and have ruined it for our current group of young people. unfortunately, i doubt these things can be un-done.

every generation has had it's obstacles and fears to overcome. vietnam, fear of going to 'nam, cold war, etc.....no generation has been exempt.

again, just one man's opinion....

THE SPOILED UNDER-30 CROWD!!!

If you are 30 or older you will think this is hilarious!!!!

When I was a kid, adults used to bore me to tears with their tedious diatribes about how hard things were. When they were growing up; what with walking Twenty-five miles to school every morning.... Uphill.... barefoot... BOTH ways Yadda, yadda, yadda

And I remember promising myself that when I grew up, there was no way in hell I was going to lay a bunch of crap like that on my kids about how hard I had it and how easy they've got it!

But now that.... I'm over the ripe old age of thirty, I can't help but look around and notice the youth of today.

You've got it so easy! I mean, compared to my childhood, you live in a damn Utopia!

And I hate to say it, but you kids today, you don't know how good you've got it!

I mean, when I was a kid we didn't have The Internet. If we wanted to know something, we had to go to the damn library and look it up ourselves, in the card catalogue!!

There was no email!! We had to actually write somebody a letter - with a pen!

Then you had to walk all the way across the street and put it in the mailbox and it would take, like, a week to get there! Stamps were 10 cents!

Child Protective Services didn't care if our parents beat us. As a matter of fact, the parents of all my friends also had permission to kick our ass! Nowhere was safe!

There were no MP3' s or Napsters! If you wanted to steal music, you had to hitchhike to the damn record store and shoplift it yourself!

Or you had to wait around all day to tape it off the radio and the DJ would usually talk over the beginning and @#*% it all up! There were no CD players! We had tape decks in our car. We'd play our favorite tape and "eject" it when finished and the tape would come undone. Cause - that's how we rolled, dig?

We didn't have fancy crap like Call Waiting! If you were on the phone and somebody else called they got a busy signal, that's it!

And we didn't have fancy Caller ID either!
When the phone rang, you had no idea who it was! It could be your school, your mom, your boss, your bookie, your drug dealer, a collections agent, you just didn't know!!! You had to pick it up and take your chances, mister!

We didn't have any fancy Sony Playstation video games with high-resolution 3-D graphics! We had the Atari 2600! With games like 'Space Invaders' and 'Asteroids'. Your guy was a little square! You actually had to use your imagination!! And there were no multiple levels or screens, it was just one screen.... forever!
And you could never win... The game just kept getting harder and harder and faster and faster until you died! Just like LIFE!

You had to use a little book called a TV Guide to find out what was on! You were screwed when it came to channel surfing! You had to get off your ass and walk over to the TV to change the channel! NO REMOTES!!!

There was no Cartoon Network either! You could only get cartoons on Saturday Morning. Do you hear what I'm saying!?! We had to wait ALL WEEK for cartoons, you spoiled little rat-bastards!

And we didn't have microwaves, if we wanted to heat something up we had to use the stove! Imagine that!

That's exactly what I'm talking about! You kids today have got it too easy. You're spoiled. You guys wouldn't have lasted five minutes back in 1980 or before!

Regards,
The Over 30 Crowd

is that why none of them graduated!! LMAO
an we would survive cuz look at everyone else. times change sorry to burst ur bubble but they do, an ya we got it easier when we were young.

but how about the jobs, an are futures that u old "30" an up people dont have to worry about! cuz barely none of u had to graduate school, or go to college or do this an that, laws are different more strict messes alot of peoples lifes up cuz its all about money now adays

no s.s, health insurance fucked. system is fucked. military is fucked. parents not married cuz everyone is hein an shein... not role models.........

so by the way i think u dont understand the youth, any of u as a matter a fact my moms 55 an she says we haave it way harder then her an its going to get harder! an my grandparents didnt give them nothing but food, shelter an some good memories

It's a neverending cycle of the younger generation blaming the older generation for their problems and the older generation conveniently forgetting that they weren't and still are not perfect angels themselves. Age should behoove respect only to a small extent. I think that you should be respectful of others no matter what their age, and that respect is something that is earned based on a person's actions and isn't something that should come automatically with age like wrinkles. I may not be very old but It seems to me that maturity and age seldom have anything to do with one another.

well put!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think this should be targeted more towards the under 20 crowd. Im 29, played the phone roulette, had an Atari, went to the library, had no internet, etc.

Yeah. I'm 27 and just about everything on that list applied to me growing up. I used to get so pissed off at some games for my Atari. They just were un beatable. Good thing I played outside a lot. Most of my childhood memories are outside having fun with my friends.

I remember when my dad got his first "cell phone". That fucker wqas so big it had its own bag. If you carried that thing around an airport today, youd have the FBI with their bomb sniffing dogs on you in a heartbeat.

My moms first cell was like that. I remember all my friends were amazed though. It was a phone that you could take ANYWHERE! Big ass bag with a heavy battery in it. An antenna that came out of the bag and a big cord going from the bag to the phone piece that was also huge.

Now that we all have cell phones, when somebody calls and you dont answer, they think youre avoiding them. Back in the day, if you didnt answer, they just assumed you werent home.

We now live in a world of instant gratification. Its one of the biggest reasons why the economy is screwed.

I was poor as a kid. we use to make toys out of cardboard and masking tape. I also use to play with the steel Tonka trucks.. Try to find one of those any more. The latest and greatest comodore 64  Apple IIe's were state of the art. Liquid hand soap was a new thing. Going through tires every 2-3 years because you rode it so much. A&W use to be served by girls on skates. Roller rinks were popular. Bazooka was 2 for 5cents.

Damn I'm old

What cell phone? I still have a wall mounted phone with pulse dialing. And no answering machine or call waiting.

im jealous of that era... shit today pisses me off, no one my age appreciates hard work and seeing how easy they really have it. It's ridiculous that im one of the only kids among all my friends i had in high school who actually worked, saved up, bought my own car, and pay for gas and insurance on my own, i pay for my own phone bill and once i turn 19 and am no longer insured on my parents medical thats gunna be on me too. Theres days i wanna hit my friends cause they bitch and ask for gas money in the 2007 mustang there dad pays for. I'd kill to be born 30 years ago
