The Milan thread

What am I going to race? The fastest thing I've had in the last 3 years still hasn't made it into the 12s

So the rest of us who do actually go race there should stop because someone who doesn't even participate says so? How would you know how the racers have been treated if you don't even come race with us? Come to the next rack rental and see how MM is treated before you pop off at the mouth with your inane bullshit.

Calm down and READ WHAT I WROTE

And I agree...first hand experience should be all that matters...I'll admit when I was wrong.
And I agree...first hand experience should be all that matters...I'll admit when I was wrong.

What I should have said was if that were true, and if that is how people are treated there on a regular basis (which is what the other thread kind of made it seem like), then they shouldn't be allowed to come on here seeking business for free. That was before you informed me that they are a paying sponsor, and before I realised that making a judgement based on second hand or third hand accounts was less than logical. So, yeah...I was wrong in that sense...and I admit it. I haven't been there personally, so I have no room to talk about the service people receive there. Also need to remember that people don't complain about the good times.

Then I guess you have missed all of our track rental threads where we have thanked Milan numerous times for great track rentals and racing seasons. I'll dig them up if you like.

And at any of the Motown track rentals have you ever been mistreated, disrespected, or punched in the face?

Nope.
Let me ask you a question : what buisness would you go to if the staff treated customers like that ?

It doesnt have to happen to me personally for me to call it wrong and to not patronize that buisness.

The part that pisses me off the most about the whole Milan attitude problem issue is, why can't they just be consistant and un-biased? I mean, yes at the MM track rental they seem to be ok, but when its time for T-N-T, a heads up event, a bracket event, etc, they turn into total assholes. I have been treated just fine at the rentals but then turn around a week later, go to another event and get shit on. It's this sort of flip-flop bullshit that is irritating. The point is customers are customers, whether they are part of a rental or just a fraction of the population at a bigger event and Milan does not have the right to treat people the way they do. This also bring up the validity of your defense of them being primarily based on the treatment at the rentals. The people that frequent this board, maybe not all of us, but definately a good percentage, race there or another track a hell of a lot more than just a few little rentals. So with that being said, if you attend say 3 or 4 rentals per year and get treated decent, but you make 10 or more separate trips to that same track for other events and get shit on in some way or another by their staff, sooner or later you start getting tired of contributing to their existance.

Nope.

Point proven on the nope.

Then why do you continue to go there? You JUST said you have been there 8 times in the last year. I smell a hypocrite.

I say to USE them for a track ( because we have little to no other choice ) but not support them as a sponsor.

I

They had better be good to MM. MM spends a chunk of change with them and they also ADVERTISE on our site.

I got married 5.5yrs ago and had to sell my cars. So combine that with not being happy with the way the place is run ='s me not wanting to go there.
I've been to many other tracks and I can tell you that Milan is worse than Norwalk, Stanton, Grandbend Motorplex and Gainesville Raceway.
There cleanup takes longer and there bathrooms are the worst.

Do you honestly think that the eggs and chicken feet were not thrown at the Hardcore guys in there trailer?

Do you honestly think Dan Millen was not hit in the face by a Milan worker?

Do you honestly think that "the cowboy" has not been an ass hole to many people?

Just because it doesn't happen to you or MM doesn't mean that it doesn't happen.

And you have never worked any where the employees may have made mistakes? It's all about how the management handles those people.

I dont hear of people having chicken thrown at them on a weekly basis.

Dan Millen still races there. I'm sure if he was worried about being socked in the face he wouldn't go there.

All the times I've been there, I've never seen "cowboy". But if people are breaking the rules and being unsafe, they SHOULD get the boot. I broke the rules this spring, and I got backed off the line. Do you hear me crying like a little biiiitch about it?

It's never happened to Motown Muscle. We've been treated awesome. Maybe if you came once in a while instead of being an E-warrior, you would know that. :)

I'm going to go T-N-T next Wed. I hope they throw chicken at me, since I won't have time for dinner.

But I see your point, and it has value, because you still frequent the track.

You do realize that the people that come to our track rentals are different from the reg customers. There are so many idiots out there with leaking piles of shit that belong no where near a drag strip. Makes it dangerous for the rest of us who keep our fluids in the tank.

Nope.

The key word is in bold. Boycott, but don't expect the site to because YOU don't like what happened.

 The E-warriors are set to fail mode today, aren't they Matt?

It's going to start getting quiet in here I predict. QuickLX is the only one who even has a leg to stand on, being that he actually races.

If you look at the poll, it looks like the MAJORITY agree with me .

Why are you not answering braxx's questions ? You were big on pointing out nobody was answering yours.

Why not TRY and represent the clubs ideas and opinions instead of your own for a change ?
It looks like a 60/40 split that people want to give milans money back and are upset about the things that are happening there.

Your poll is much like all of the rest you post. USELESS!

Of the 76 people that say we should, how many are NEVER going to go again? How many have even gone in the last year? How many even have a car to race?

If you folks are really that interested in a boycott, why don't you post up your names. That way if you make the mistake of going I can call you out just like I'm going to do with Brian. I'm gonna make sure he doesn't back slide on his morals. I'll help you folks with it also. :D

Milan's staff made another mistake. Shall we get the lynch mob after them? I just glad I've never made a mistake nor has anyone else here. I know for certain I've NEVER over reacted to something

During our last race held June 6th, we had a multiple car accident take place in the shutdown area. Per our insurance company we must have 2 EMT’s at each event. Safety is a major concern for us, so we staff 6-8 EMT’s on large events and 3-4 EMT’s on regular events in case of an incident like this or accidents in the pit area. We had 8 EMT’s respond to the accident. The scene can be and was dangerous with flammable liquids and sharp objects all over the area. While our team was taking care of the racers, we had a lot of interference from racers, crew and family. Anytime there is an accident we (and any track I have ever been to) announce for everyone to stay back and keep the area clear. The rules below are from the 2008 IHRA Rule Book and were violated during the accident.

Page 138 INTERFERENCE: In the event of an accident, crew or family members, or other drivers, etc. may not interfere with the Safety crew. Interference will result in fines, loss of points, suspension, which may be levied per person.

Page 138: All participants are considered to be responsible for their personal conduct and must behave in a professional manner at all times. Any participant who verbally or physically threatens another person or behaves in a manner determined by IHRA to be detrimental to the event or sport may be suspended at any time.Any action or behavior deemed detrimental by IHRA towards IHRA will result in disciplinary action and/or suspension or monetary fines. Driver is responsible for the actions of his or her crew.

Page 138: Any driver and/or pit crew member found to be under the influence of alcoholic beverages or drugs regardless of the amount, will be barred from the meet and this shall be considered sufficient cause for suspension and/or revocation of their competition privileges.

Page 138: Driver is responsible for the actions of his or her crew.

Page 142 listing of grounds for disqualification and rank of worst offenses:
Use of alcoholic beverages by driver, owner or crewman.
Unsportsmanlike conduct, improper language or conduct detrimental to racing.

In an accident situation, we need to be focused on the patients involved, not on outsiders. We will absolutely not tolerate our employees being assaulted while trying to do their job. Most crew and family want us to focus on the patient and are very respectful. As a matter of fact we generally get post to our message board and emails after an accident from the crew and family thanking us for taking such good care of them. It is much easier to do when the above mentioned infractions are not an issue.

On another note we are in the process of reorganizing the system for pit parking access, each driver will get a vehicle pass and X amount of pit parking passes for their crew. We have numerous complaints from racers on the amount of cars in the pit area driving around and parking in their pit area. Anyone that is not part of a crew receiving a pit parking pass will have the option of paying a fee for pit parking or parking on the spectator side. This will help keep an overload of cars out of the pits. We are trying to better accommodate our racers and crew with this system.

We have had a problem with the golf carts blocking the return road next to the track. In the same area, we have had, people standing along the starting line walls which is unsafe. We need access to that road at all times. The amount of people that come up with the carts and hang out on the starting line is unacceptable. That is a dangerous area. Plus they are blocking the view of the fans in the stands and the VIP Tower. We are asking the teams to keep their carts in the staging lanes to help avoid these problems. After your car/bike makes their run, you can drive down the return road or go back through the staging lanes to return to the pits. No parking will be allowed on or near the return road. All teams with golf carts should have their class and car number on them.

This event is similar to a multiday event but we are doing it in hours. You ladies and gentlemen do some great driving. Your cars are awesome to see. The local fans are thrilled with the show. We just need to work together so we can have a safe race, and keep our sponsors, racers and fans happy. As always, if you have any questions or input we are glad to hear from you.

We look forward to seeing you at the next race July 11, 2008.

They don't handle the problems, hell they won't respond at all.

I have work to get done. Talk to you guys later. :kissme:

Yes, USE them because that is all that you can do. It's not really a choice. If you want to race and NOT drive hours a way.
You buy gas every few days and don't like paying so much but you don't have to show support to the gas companies. You don't let them advertise on your car or whatever. You USE it for what it's worth.

So we should cut our nose off to spite our face? I guess all the good things Milan has done for us shouldn't count for anything. Let's just focus on all the bad things that happen to OTHER people.

Anyone have a pitch fork? I'm ready to be an angry villager and storm the castle!!!

Step 1: Open mouth

Step 2: Insert foot

Step 1: Show me ANYWHERE it says that any of the racers team ASSUALTED a MILAN employee...

Step 2: It says according to

Please read the bold lines above... It says "All", which means Milan's crew and spectators... So that means Milan's crew MUST follow these rules also, or they have their own "special rules"...

Step 3: Why is it people expect high professionalism from other businesses but when Milan gets out of line they are excused????

Maybe you should take that pitch fork and set it down and realize a FEW BAD ACTIONS FROM A FEW different people affect the WHOLE GROUP and business's image???? Ever think of that?

Milan release a response

Too bad they ignored the real issues...
