The IROC Z Is Your Best Investment for a Classic Camaro...

Mike's car is exaclty the IROC I would have wanted.
Considering how many Italians and Chaldians are around here there ought to be about 500 sitting packed away around here just wainting to be bought. We ought to be able to corner the market! lol

Hell yea! Prob find a bunch of bottles of Drakkar in the glove box... Used to douche ourselfs with that stuff wearing our Z. Cavaricci Pants and button up shirts:lol:

Bums me out mine is a '84 z28.. Year before the iroc name but basically the same thing.. I'm shocked I haven't had any bites on selling it yet, I thought I had priced well

I was thinking the same thing. I have a 92 Z28. I'm not looking to sell it but my guess is a loaded 90 IROC might pull the most cash since they were only IROC's for a 1/2 year and they have the new interior and Air Bag

My next door neighbor has a one owner 87 iroc blue with t-tops under 100k she mentions selling now and then says 4k will take it, cash is in safe for when she serious, brings it out once a year for the local church car show

I came really close to trading my S15 Jimmy for a black/gold '86 IROC in high school. It needed a rear end so I passed on it. A few months later my neighbor bought a '89-ish Z28 and blew the motor within a couple of days. He was an asshole so I laughed my ass off at him.

I was disappointed when they switched from the Camaros to the Daytonas.

A stock IROC R/T Daytona would blow the doors off of any stock IROC Z.

idk about that everyone knocks the iroc only having a 305 (some could be optioned or easliy swapped to 350+) but stock they werent bad and responded really well to bolt ons

My brother had a Spirit R/T back in the day that went 14.20 stock. The Spirit and Daytona are within 100lb of each other, with the Spirit weighing a tad more. His had ~122k miles on the clock IIRC.

Dang, i know those turbo mopars moved out pretty good, and like any turbo car upping the boost they responded really well. But had to make sure you got one with the turbo motor not that crappy v6

His had that DOHC 2.2L Turbo III engine. I remember after he cut open the air box and chopped the cat he was pulling high 13s in it. It was a fun car.

were the Daytona's turbo? Spirit turbo was an awesome car.

IROC Daytona was a 3.0L 6, but the IROC R/T was a 2.2L DOHC turbo 4. The Spirit R/T and IROC R/T had the same engine, it had a 16V Lotus cylinder head, first DOHC vehicle offered for sale by Chrysler.

Thought some iroc daytonas had the.....II " In 1991, the 2.2 liter turbo was dropped in favor of the new 2.5L "High Torque Turbo." Although sporting a lesser 152 hp, this power-plant offered 210 ft. lbs. of torque, exceeding that of the Turbo II."

Oh ok. I didn't know the IROC came in a turbo 4, just thought they got the 3.0L unless it was a R/T.

The other day I came across a 95% rust free 86 that had a for sale sign in it while cruising some back roads. 305 tpi, auto, blue, t-tops, but delaminated paint, dried out weather seals, cracked dash pad, but all original unmolested still had stock stereo in it for $1400 on the window. I'd bet around a grand would buy it.
