The Imperial Cruiser project

That was pretty quick actually. At Christmas you only had it tore down. What can you gonna use?

I found a stockish cam, it's 224 @ .05", 450" lift. Should idle pretty smooth.

I'm diggin' it!

Please tell me you're keeping the a/c? Can't have a land yacht cruiser without a/c!

Hell yeah I'm keeping it! I was hesitant to to pull the engine because the A/C actually worked great. Still had R-12. I think I have a few cans left. I usually had the windows down though, its a hardtop so there's no post.

Here's a tip for all you mopar guys: use a piece of tig rod or a coat hanger to keep the pushrods out of the way when you're putting the rockers on. It can be a PITA.

Hopefully should have engine back in this weekend, but I still have a few things to do first.

And I cleaned my garage too. It was pretty pigged out.

Engine's back in, kinda tricky putting it in from the side instead of the front.I still have a boatload of crap to do, I'm waiting on the radiator and alternator right now. And I have somewhere (or at least I think I have) a brand new distributor to replace that crusty one.

in for a penny in for a pound eh?
Big respect to you for going this far into it, alot of my scumbag friends would have just trown rings in it and wondered why I still smoked.
See you picked up a set of striping brushes hu? I dig it for sure!

Lol, yeah. It snowballed pretty bad. I dig the shit outta this car tho, so I'm just sucking it up and finishing it.

Pillarless defiently gives it a great open air look (remember seeing it at the shop one day). I came real close to taking on a 73 polara and the lack of B pillars made it very tempting.

Finally made some progress now that Autorama is over. Engine is dressed, A/C system is hooked back up and holds vacuum.

New aluminum radiator is in, electric fans mounted. I didn't want to trust the original radiator that I put an egg in to stop a leak. (that works BTW) It was cheaper to get this one than have the old one re-cored.

I couldn't find hoses that fit right, so I just made some tubes out of leftover bends from some headers I built.

The bottom tube I just rattle canned, but the top one I metal finished and prepped for paint. I think I'm gonna flake it to match the roof or something

Well, it's running, and I broke in the cam. I haven't driven it yet other than back it out of the garage so I could sweep up.

Still gotta put the hood on and give the engine bay a once over cleaning.

My custom flaked out radiator tube.

I redid the roof in purple. The gold didn't have enough "pop" against the white car. I still gotta finish wheeling it out.
