The affects of ObamaCare on you

My BCBS PPO currently runs (for a family of 4) about 770 a month. That includes 1 basic Dr visit per person per year, no vision, no dental, first 5000 I spend they cover something like 20%, after that they cover 80 (I hit that mark last & this by year by july) and the same formula applys to prescription drugs, but any drugs that my Dr has prescribed is never covered, they always come up with some expensive ass drug that the insurance never allows, even though I always ask for the generic.
BCBS has already sent me a letter. My coverage plan is no longer available. It ends 1-1-2014. its being canceled.
I logged on to BCBS web side, and looked into their least expensive plan, that's comparable or the closest to mine (their "bronze plan").
Its 400 more per month. That includes $94 in new taxes. My limit is raised from 5000 to 7700, and after I hit my limit, my co pay increases from 20% to 40%.
Someone please tell me why I work 6-7 12 hour days a week ?

One of the things I haven't seen anyone mention, is that even though everyone's health insurance costs will go up, what we pay is not enough to cover the monstrous costs of the program, so our national debt will skyrocket. This whole Obamacare is one giant clusterf...and make no mistake about it, it has nothing to do with healthcare. It is all about socialists having more control over all of us. These are the same people that absolutely want to take all of your guns. And soon, thanks to the international arms treaty signed with the U.N., the one world government gets closer to reality. Yes, I am very, very conservative and the current regime in Washington scares me more than Bin Laden ever did.

Obamacare is an insurance exchange.

The law changed to force insurers to take least-desirable people. In order to force people on to insurance (ie: force most-desirable people onto it) is where the tax came from.

The law basically made a socialist program more socialist. IE: a family of four costs ~$210/month at my work while I only insure myself and it costs me $170. In my opinion, it should cost $680 because you're insuring 4 people. Brats are expensive and people should have to pay for ALL of them. I also don't believe in getting a tax deduction for having children. You should pay more for more children. Now everyone has to pay more because of all the sick people and the loser children that stay on their parents' insurance until age 26.

I don't like paying for other people's children with the exception of providing them an education. So any of you whining about insurance going up AND still pay less with your insurance including out of pocket and premiums than if you had paid for everything are GETTING A DEAL that the rest of us are paying for.

I'm not against Obamacare, I think it's a good idea. However, I'm irritated with all the people that think a vagina is a clown car and have a bunch of children I'm paying for AND THEY'RE STILL PISSING AND MOANING. I don't mind paying more so people that don't have any money or are disabled can get the care they need to lead less miserable lives. But I think people that have a bunch of children should pay their fair share.

Obama should be impeached.
Obamacare is NOT a good idea.

Everyone should have health insurance just like everyone should have a job.

I saw some people with a signup sheet in front of post office on mound rd north of 696 collecting signatures for his impeachment. they had a funny pic of Obama with a hitler mustache

I have some very good news for some of you guys…….there is
indeed an alternative to Obama care / health insurance. It is also
one of the few “excepted” groups from the new health care law.

"An eligible option under the national healthcare law".

Like many of my friends & fellow Church members already have,
I’m looking at joining one of these :

Yes these are much cheaper than the traditional health insurance policies.

My family is a part of SamaritanMinistries. Its awesome so far. WAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYY cheaper.

This is how our coverage has changed....

PP0 plan for a single person went from $141.60/mo up to $148.70. $500 deductible (same as before), 20% copay (same), but maximum out of pocket went from $3000 down to $2500. Prescription co-pays are the same.

For the CDHP/HSA plans, 2 tiers went from $43.50/$78.62 up to $50.90/$92.00. Both HSA accounts get $1000 from the company put into the account to use. Seems to not have changed much other than the typical changes year to year.

My wifes state worker insurance and my auto worker insurance isn't changing.........already have letters stating so...

*shrug* Not saying I am for what they passed. I think it's stupid. But I am def. not seeing any changes to our insurance benefits.

You would have to make less than $9500 a year for it to be $95.

Math, how does it work?

It is 1% above income filing threshold (anything over 10k for individual or 20k for families).

If you made 30k, you would pay a $200 fine, $300 if you make $40k, etc. as an individual.
Not every uninsured person will be subject to the penalty, however. In fact, 80% of the 30 million Americans expected to lack coverage in 2016 will be exempt from the mandate, according to the Congressional Budget Office.

Among those exempted include: undocumented immigrants, Native Americans and those who earn too little to file tax returns. Also, people who would have to pay more than 8% of their income for health insurance and poor adults who live in states that are not expanding Medicaid also aren't subject to the penalty. The uninsured can also file for hardship exemptions.

My insurance has gone up each year since the first parts of ObamaCare started kicking in. I got a letter from BCBS saying that my plan does not comply with the Affordable Care Act, so now I have to get a new plan. Using the healthcare.gov website is going to give me hypertension, it's so buggy, constant errors and crashing. I've been trying to use it for about a week now and I still haven't been able to look at any plans in the "marketplace".

Shouldn't one be able to just "not have anything" as a choice without penalty in the land of the free?

Same, but I got on with HAP for 2014. Cheaper than BCBS, and WAY cheaper than the recommended plan.

My company did not change their healthcare plan at all. Our monthly payment went up as it has for the last 10 years, but that was expected. We moved to a high-deductible health-care plan a few years ago to keep the monthly payments in check. So far, my wife and I have only hit the max deductible ($4000) once due to a surgery.
