The 86 build-up

I'm having some minor issues with clearance on things for some reason, some how it all started when 86coupe showed up :dontknow:. :chairfall

But the intake wouldn't fit down all the way it was hitting the lip on the heads, had to grind on my new intake :pissed:.

oil pan hits the girdle, tried three styles of rockers before one worked right; even so they might not last long being a 3\8" stud..

btw couple more pics

Setting some head gaskets.

The pile of junk all together minus the oil pan

I have to machine the header adapter plates and the girdle today... should be in tonight possible running tomorrow.

Had to do the same thing to my Super Victor. Called Edlebrock and asked WTF? They told me I had to grind it down.

are you gonna be working on it tonight? i'll prob stop by after work.

yeah I'll be out there, I have to weld the inside of the oil pump up tonight and smooth it all out then should be able to button up the bullshit and drop it in.. Im just worried about the headers.. :pissed:

I had to grind so much off the pump to make it fit around the main stud that I ground right into the inlet housing. Other than that its ready to rock.

Headers fit much better than expected, ground clearance is some what to be desired but thats what ya get with 3/4" drop mounts.

For un-for seen transmission issues the car prob wont make it out this year..............

Looks great, Derrick. That blows about the trans. What's up with it?

Shit, if its gonna be down untill spring, redo the engine bay!

Yeah I know its nasty

X2 and get yourself at least a digital 6.

 you don't need those things haha

Pulled the pan off and all look o.k. was just going to throw a vb in and shift servo and hope for the best. Pulled the servo cover off and it was full of clutch material dust.. so much so it was like a paste.. :icon_frow

That's gotta be a downer for sure. So is it trash or can you save it?

Sorry to read about your heartaches with the engine as well, even so with that you built it faster then I ever could lol.

I think I'm gunna go a different route trans wise all together and get away from them damn automatics.

Yeah it seems its one thing after another, kinda like someone does not want me to get this thing out this year..

Still though cant be as bad as what you went thru.
