Thanks MM Sponsors!

Finished just-in-time for a short hibernation. With much help from MM sponsors, my LS1 Monte SS project is 98%. . . except for a saggy headliner and out-of-balance driveshaft.

Thanks to Joe / Duke for the killer wiring install. The engine started on the first crank, yea!

Thanks to Sean @ CARS for finishing up the tune and finishing details- especially pointing out the OEM radiator looked like I plucked it from the great barrier reef.

Thanks to Matt @ Detail Express for the tint, restoring the luster, and new car smell.

Thanks again Reiko for the excellent customer service and prices that make the drive to the D worthwhile.

Non-sponsor rep for WhiteOut for the killer deal on the rear brake kit.

oh yea, pics of the car. . . had to snap pics at Detail Express before trailering the car home through the sloppy shit. Still had to rinse off the crap before I got home.

'84 Monte SS, '01 LS1 & 4L60E- stock except for headers and RetroLSX oil pan, Front susp: SPC adjustable upper arms, SPC tubular lower arms, SPC coils, Howe 'tall' balljoints, SC&C frame brace, Alston Vari-shocks, Baer Track 13" brakes on OE spindles. Rear susp: Currie adjustable upper arms, Currie lower arms, SPC coils, Spohn Pro-touring anti-sway bar, Alston Vari-shocks, Baer Track 12" brake system. 18" Rushforth Fuel in smoked titanium and polished. 2.5" 304 stainless exhaust w/ Dynomax VT mufflers. Other doo-dads: full working OEM instrument cluster thanks in part to Shiftworks adapter tail cone, BGN fuel tank/sender/pump, Kwik performance A/C relocation bracket and Sanden AC pump, BGN AC condenser, F-body LS1 fans.

I wanted a near-OEM installation execution which meant no cutting the car- if I wasn't a sissy and cut the car, it would have a T56. I also wanted modern driveability and reliability. High dyno numbers or straight-line performance were not goals. The car was built to be driven and will be. . . on nice, dry days only, lol.

Oh man, I love the color, wheels, and even interior! The car looks MINT. I say this will be the next car of the month for sure.

I'm the 3rd owner. Odometer reads 63,5xx miles. The original owner was way OCD about the car, to the point that he had it repainted because he wasn't satisfied with the factory finish. He supposedly wiped it down after every drive, nice days only, and balked when my BIL wanted to drive it home in the rain after my BIL bought it. BIL had it for ~16 years before I bought it. During those 16 years, the car was driven less than 11k miles and always stored, covered in a heated garage. It's as mint as you'll find in these parts.

I'm a self-proclaimed Ford guy. Had this been a run-of-the-mill MCSS or G-body, I would have passed on the project. The cars just don't 'move' me. It's an exceptionally clean example and I know it's history which is why I picked it up.

Thanks for the kind words everyone!

Awesome! I bet you could drive it all the way to Cali with the A/C on by the time its at 100%.
