Lets here what you guys got, just looking for a wifi model let me know what your likes dislikes and price having a hard time decieding what i should get.
 
Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 Out of the box, it was plenty fine, but I had to toss CM9 on it just because I prefer the vanilla Android interface. Another thing I like is the IR blaster, makes on hell of a universal remote too. If I wouldve waited a few more months, I wouldve bought a Nexus 7 instead.
 
I have an HP Touchpad running Android 4.0.
Price - $150-200 used
Likes: 10" screen, cheap, 32gb of memory
Dislikes: No expandable storage. My next tablet will have an SD card slot of some type for accessing media cards from my cameras. It's only a dual core 1.5Ghz but I don't play games or watch HD video on it so that's not really a problem for me. The Touchpad originally came with WebOS but several smart people out there developed a way to put Android on it. However, not everything works. The camera worked with Gingerbread but since I upgraded to ICS, it no longer works. Again, I don't use it so it's not a problem for me.
 
I have an Acer a200 not a bad tablet android based 10inch screen and runs Icream sandwhich which was the newest android os eariler this year not sure if a new one came out. Battery life is about 3 days and the picture is great on it. I use the kindle and nook apps on it so i can read anything i want. prices range from $250 to $350 depending on color and memory but it has an expansion slot for a micro sd card and i put an 8gig card in mine. Overall im really happy with it.
 
I'm eyeballing the nexus right now. I would go that route. If you do go iPad, make sure it doesn't have iOS 6. It blows donkey balls all around.
 
My 10 year old bought a Nexus 7 and I have to say it is very cool. Haven't really noticed any down sides to it. He bought the 16 gig, only so he doesn't have to be monkeying around with the computer all the time. $250.00
 
I'm running a rooted Kindle Color with Android OS. Upgrading to the Nexus 7 within the next couple months though.

I bought a Touchpad and put Android ICS on it for me. Bought my wife the Nexus 7 when they came out. The Nexus is a much more polished device and I really like the size/weight.

While I love having a 10" screen on the Touchpad, it's heavy as shit. As pointed out, with Android ICS ported over to it, not everything works but it does everything I need it to do. Having a functioning 10" tablet for $200 was my biggest appeal. Had I not gotten the Touchpad, I'd get another Nexus 7 with no hesitation.
 
Microsoft said price point will be $300 to $800. I guarantee you it won't start out at $300. Probably more competitively priced with the iPad. 4-500 for the low end and pricing upward.

Pricing for the surface was announced 2 days ago without the cool keyboard a 32 gig one is 499 add on the keyboard for another $100. The RT model is only going to use the windows appstore.
